Ideally youll be based around Berwick upon Tweed with a full UK driving license. CSCS card is an advantage but not essential. No previous experience in the industry is needed as full training is provided. The right candidate can also look forward to significant career progress to foreman driller status over time, giving you a qualification and career for life.
You will be working remotely from our yard in Berwick with overnight accommodation and food allowance provided. Manual labour and outside working is part of the job so should be expected daily.

HIRING - QUALIFIED MECHANIC / FITTER

JB Site Investigations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanic/plant fitter to join our team in Berwick upon Tweed.

Working with the JB team as the sole mechanic maintaining our fleet of cable and rotary drilling rigs, trailers, plant and vehicles, you will be responsible for the proactive and reactive upkeep of the fleet from ad-hoc repairs at our workshop in Berwick or on site when required, to routine servicing and replacement of wear-parts. You will be responsible for managing your time and workshop stock levels effectively as well as keeping on top of all workshop and general yard duties.

Experience in drilling plant is not essential as training can be provided on an ongoing basis, but the successful applicant will be mechanically fluent and able to overcome challenging situations to keep our plant moving. Candidates from an agricultural mechanic background or vehicle mechanic background with qualifications in there field are desired for this post, along with welding experience and tickets.

A competitive salary is available for the right candidate along with a vehicle. Monday to Friday within normal working hours are what to expect but rarely overtime may be needed to ensure we meet our clients expectations.
