Still on a bit of a come down after working flat out on the DIY SOS build in Beverley over this past week or so. I’ve worked with some absolute legends including my namesake Billy Byrne and couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved for an amazing charity. The programme will be aired later this year, possibly next year and definitely one to watch. Until then I can’t talk about or show what I’ve been doing, so for now it’ll be back to business as usual!

How is this even right? Houses starting from £200k + and you’re getting this level of rubbish built into them!! It’s a pile of bricks supposed to resemble a chimney, sat on a roof truss, serving no purpose. I’m not blaming the trades who built it, it’s the developers that throw up these new estates. We can do better, especially for the prices that home owners are charged!

Three full days of visits to the hospital and an operation to wire together a broken thumb at Hull Royal Infirmary and here I am, out of work again for a few weeks! I’m not sure this year could get any worse!..Thanks to my customer Mick, who helped me out after a fight with my chop saw (it won!) on Saturday and thanks for theirs and other customers understanding, while they wait for me to get back to it yet again. Thanks to the NHS and literally a big thumbs up to the years ahead, but this past year can definitely do one!

It’s been an absolute pleasure to do this work and fantastic to see the room finished and dressed by my client.
I have installed and paint finished the panelling, as well as wallpapering above.

Flooring by Waltham Carpets & Flooring Ltd.

Currently the only paint finish I can offer by myself for my installed pieces is brushed or rollered. Hopefully in the not too distant future, as I am City & Guild qualified in both furniture craft and modern finishing, I will be offering the option of spray finishes.

Sorry for the swearing but F**K CANCER!! I’m back working and it feels good! 😂I’ve been doing a few jobs over the past month or so and I’m feeling back up to speed (almost! 😂). Will post a few pics of the work I’ve been doing soon, but for now I’m cracking on building a large garden workshop/gym for a customer over the next couple of weeks.
