Designed by ACA on behalf of Millennium Care UK Group the Langtree Care Home 52-bed specialist dementia and nursing care home was thoughtfully designed to create a therapeutic, welcoming and highly supportive environment for residents, staff and visitors alike.

We’re proud to share that Langtree Care Home, Standish has been shortlisted for the Project of the Future Design UK Award at the prestigious Design in Mental Health Awards 2026.

The awards celebrate excellence and innovation within mental health and care environments and are recognised as some of the most respected honours within the healthcare and design sectors.

Designed by ACA on behalf of Millennium UK Care Group Langtree Care Home was conceived during the challenges of the pandemic before opening in 2025 as part of the wider Standish Care Village development.

The 52-bed specialist dementia and nursing care home was thoughtfully designed to create a therapeutic, welcoming and highly supportive environment for residents, staff and visitors alike.

For many people embarking on a building project, architectural drawings can seem straightforward: once planning permission is granted and the design looks right on paper, surely the difficult part is done. In reality, the process of translating a concept into a buildable, coordinated project is far more complex.

At ACA, we often encounter a number of common misconceptions about architects and the role drawings play throughout a project. Understanding these can make a significant difference to the success, cost control and overall experience of delivering a building.

One of the most common assumptions is that once planning permission is secured, the majority of the work is complete. In reality, planning drawings are typically conceptual in nature. Spring is a natural time for businesses to refresh their spaces.
Whether it’s an office redesign, retail refit or workplace refurbishment, thoughtful design can transform how people experience a space.

Here is a project that we were commissioned to produce for Suite 36 in collaboration with byHull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust at Hull Royal Infirmary, Hull. It included office interior architecture and design development.

The design brief was to create a workspace for the clinical staff. A workspace to enhance their interactions and offer social spaces for collaborations. The office interior comprises an area of approximately 900sqm. The open plan office design accommodates 120 workstations. It also includes video conferencing facilities, meeting rooms as well as all the associated accommodation.
