About Birch Electrical & Plumbing

Hi, I’m Chris Birch, the face behind Birch Electrical & Plumbing. My journey in the trade started early—my dad was a skilled plumber, and from the age of 12, I spent my school holidays helping him out on building sites. That hands-on experience gave me a strong foundation and set me on my career path.

After leaving school, I joined Land Rover in Solihull on an apprenticeship in electrical and mechanical engineering. Over the next 20 years, I worked in factory maintenance, gaining qualifications in electrical work, mechanical engineering, fabrication, and plumbing.

In 2009, I took voluntary redundancy and moved to the Isle of Wight, where I set up Birch Electrical & Plumbing Services. Running my own business meant I could work around family life and school runs while continuing to do what I love—helping homeowners with their electrical, plumbing, and general home maintenance needs.

Since moving to Bexhill in 2016, I’ve continued offering reliable, high-quality services to local homeowners. Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from kitchen and bathroom refits to plumbing repairs, electrical installations, and general household DIY.
