Top Tips for the coming months -

❄ Winter will be here before we know it, and now is honestly the time to have a look at your property before the weather starts causing problems.

A lot of the bigger jobs we get called out to could have been avoided if the problem had been spotted and sorted earlier.

👀Have a walk around your property and keep an eye out for a few simple things:

• Check your gutters and downpipes. If they’re blocked, water can start overflowing and getting into places it shouldn’t.

• Have a look at your roof for any slipped, cracked or missing tiles. A small leak can turn into a much bigger problem once we get heavy rain and strong winds.

• Check around windows, doors and any areas where water could be getting in. Damp patches or staining inside shouldn’t just be ignored.

• Look at your brickwork and pointing. Cracks or damaged pointing can allow water into the brickwork, and when temperatures drop, that moisture can cause even more damage.

• Check your drains and make sure they’re flowing properly. The last thing you want is heavy winter rain and nowhere for the water to go.

• If you’ve already noticed damp, leaks, cracks or water getting in somewhere, don’t wait for it to get worse.

I know it’s tempting to think “it’ll be alright until spring”, but unfortunately water has a habit of finding the smallest problem and turning it into a much bigger one.

🪙Getting something checked now could save you a lot of stress, disruption and money later on.

And if you’re not sure whether something you’ve noticed is actually a problem, just get in touch. We’re always happy to have a chat and point you in the right direction.

Better to catch it now while it’s a small job than wait until you’re standing there in the middle of winter with water coming through the ceiling.

PILTON LOFT CONVERSION UPDATE

The new dormer timber frame is now complete, and work is moving on to the other side of the roof. We’re now stripping everything back ready to install new battens, roofing felt and slates, as well as fitting two new VELUX roof windows to bring plenty of natural light into the new loft space.

💙 Wondering why the photos look blue?
The new dormer structure is currently covered with blue tarpaulin to keep everything protected and watertight while the roofing work continues – which is giving the photos their blue tint!

Another big stage of this Barnstaple project taking shape. Keep following us to see the transformation continue. 👀

Bank holiday is over, back to it!

🎬 THE FINAL TRANSFORMATION!

Sit back and watch how we transformed the old Mole Valley offices – a building that had also previously been used as a youth club – from tired, dilapidated offices into three fantastic new flats.

From the initial strip-out and structural work through to new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decorating, electrics, plumbing and the external transformation, this video shows the project from start to finish.

A huge amount of work has gone into completely giving this building a new lease of life – and we’re really pleased with the finished result.
