Harrisons Electrical, Mechanical & Property Services Ltd are delighted to have successfully handed over at Rogers Court for Kier Construction. The 6-month scheme for Bedford Borough Council has been widely publicised in the media.

The project scheme involved refurbishing an existing three storey office space to create accommodation for the Bedford Borough Council’s Next Steps Accommodation Programme (NSAP). The landmark facility is for those rough sleeping, or at risk of doing so. The site comprises twenty units, providing each resident with their own privacy and security, including provision for disabled persons. Each unit included its own kitchen, living area, bedroom, and toilet/shower room. Also included within the facility is office spaces, treatment room and staff rest area.

The project, awarded through the SCAPE framework, has seen Harrisons undertake the following aspects for Kier:

M&E Design & installation
Fire Alarm
Specialist systems including misting extinguishing & AOV installations
Partitioning, ceilings & carpentry
New external doors & windows
External Ramp & Balustrade
Flooring and paint finishes
Various fixed furniture installations

Gas Safe Registered? What is that, some of you ask!

Well, the Gas Safe Register itself is the official Gas Registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. They have been appointed by the relevant Health & Safety Authority for each area. It is a requirement by law that ALL gas engineers MUST be on this Gas Safe Register. The main purpose of this is to protect the public from dangerous and unsafe gas work, ensuring competency of gas workers and giving you peace of mind that the engineer installing or repairing your gas boiler knows exactly what they are doing.

Please be rest assured that ALL engineers are Gas Safe Registered. This is a legal requirement that allows registered persons to work safely and legally on boilers and all other gas appliances.
