Playground resurfacing completed in Ickwell, Bedfordshire.

The Borderline Landscapes team recently completed a full playground upgrade for a local preschool, removing the existing cracked rubber surface and rebuilding the area from the ground up.

Rather than overlaying the old surface, we chose to completely replace it to ensure the new system was fully permeable, improving drainage and helping prevent puddling.

The works included new drainage, chamber and manhole cover, a 200mm Type 1 base, 20mm SBR rubber base and 15mm rubber top coat, alongside repainting the fencing and updating the gates.

A complete refresh, creating a more durable and practical outdoor play area for the preschool.

A complete playground transformation in Ickwell, Bedfordshire. 🛝
Borderline Landscapes recently completed a full resurfacing project for a local preschool, replacing a cracked rubber surface that had been laid directly onto concrete.

From High maintenance hedge to a boundary built to last.

After removing a large amount of existing hedging and trees that were becoming a constant maintenance job for the homeowner, we’ve created a clean, structured boundary with our signature pressure-treated closeboard fencing.
Finished with capping and counter rails, V-notch pressure-treated posts and carefully curved to follow the driveway's shape, it’s a practical finish that still feels considered and bespoke.

With an approximate lifespan of 15 years, it’s a long-term solution built to look good and stand up to everyday life.

Another quality installation completed by the Borderline Landscapes team. This time a smart curved patio in grey 600x900 sandstone, creating a clean, elegant outdoor space for our client in Baldock.
A huge thank you to the extended Borderline team, who have been holding the fort and keeping the business moving where they can, while I focus on recovering from some health issues. Your hard work, commitment and high standards mean everything, and I'm incredibly grateful.

Another fantastic garden transformation completed by the Borderline Landscapes team.

This project featured a stunning resin-bound patio and pathway, finished with a contrasting resin border using premium PERMABOUND Resin products. We also installed 40mm artificial grass with a 20mm underlay for a softer, more comfortable feel underfoot.

To ensure outstanding drainage and long-term performance, the entire garden was built using the GLC Products Inc. X-Grid system, making it 100% permeable. The area was excavated and prepared with MOT Type 3, followed by layers of clean 10mm aggregate and a fully compacted 50mm X-Grid base before the final surfaces were installed.

To complete the transformation, we fitted brand-new fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards, creating a durable, low-maintenance outdoor space that can be enjoyed all year round.
