We have been awarded a mechanical package of works for the new Eye Infirmary in Sunderland, appointed by our valued client, Dalkia.

Our scope includes key plantroom installations across two levels of this state-of-the-art facility, including:

🛠️ LTHW & CHW services to 4 x Air Source Heat Pumps
🛠️ LTHW & CHW to 13 x Air Handling Units
🛠️ Multiple pumps, vessels, water source heat pumps, and other free issue equipment

We recently completed a successful refurbishment project at James Cook University Hospital, transforming an existing CT Tomography Room and adjacent offices into a state-of-the-art CT Scanner facility. đź‘Ź

The upgrade includes a dedicated control room and enhanced office spaces...all delivered for our long-term client Serco, on behalf of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our mechanical and electrical teams executed a wide range of works across three project phases, including:

🔹 Ventilation
🔹 Heating
🔹 Thermal insulation
🔹 Emergency lighting
🔹 Nurse call systems

The team also delivered works to ensure fire safety compliance as part of this project, including installation of fire/smoke dampers, fire alarm installation, and all relevant testing and commissioning. This also included all passive fire protection works and compliance.

The project was delivered on time and to the full satisfaction of the client, once again demonstrating our expertise in upgrading critical healthcare infrastructure without disrupting live hospital operations.

Clear communication and close collaboration with the client were key to this success, well done to everyone involved. đź‘Ź

The UTC project at James Cook University Hospital has been named Project of the Year (Primary) at the MMC Awards 2025! 🏆

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in this ground breaking project – an incredible team effort that pushed the boundaries of modular construction to deliver a truly transformative facility for both the client and the wider community.

Using innovative off-site modular methods, the new UTC was delivered in just 32 weeks – 12 weeks faster than traditional construction – with minimal disruption to the existing hospital. Seamlessly integrated with the Emergency Department, it’s already making a real difference: improving patient flow, easing pressure on frontline services, and enhancing the overall healthcare experience.

“The space has been praised for creating a welcoming environment that feels less clinical and more comforting. Patients have remarked that the design has made them feel more at ease, ultimately providing a sense of confidence in their surroundings,” Frances Bowden of South Tees, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation.

Our fire engineering team has been awarded a new contract on behalf of Serco Health at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. 🙌

Starting next month, our team of four experienced surveyors will begin a 6-month passive fire compliance inspection across the main hospital building and residency blocks.

Working around live operational areas, our inspections will cover:

âś…Firestopping & Seals
âś…Fire-rated Glazing
âś…Service Penetrations
âś…Ceiling Voids & Roof Spaces

We were delighted to have been invited to the grand opening of The University Hospital of North Tees' new ÂŁ4.3 million robotic and emergency maternity surgical theatre.

This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant step forward in delivering cutting-edge medical care and providing world-class healthcare facilities for people across Teesside.

Our team constructed one of the most ambitious estates projects in the hospital's history. The new theatre complex includes advanced robotic surgical and training spaces, alongside a dedicated emergency maternity surgery theatre – making a real difference for both staff and patients.

This latest construction project represents another milestone in our long-term partnership with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and NTH Solutions and we look forward to continuing our work together to deliver more innovative healthcare solutions.

Contract award!

We've been appointed as the principal contractor for vital façade remedial works at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) in Cramlington!

This ÂŁ12.5 million project, which began last month, will rejuvenate the exterior of the building, including the replacement of the existing insulation and render, breathing new life into the building. Our experienced team is working closely with Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management to carry out this essential work while minimising disruption to the hospital's critical services.

The safety and wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors remain our top priority throughout the duration of the project.

This is a fantastic win for our team - we're excited to see this transformation unfold over the next two years!

We're partnering with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust , carrying out passive fire works, further expanding our expertise in fire stopping activities.

Starting next week, our team will begin surveys on 2,849 doors at Bradford Royal Infirmary and 966 surveys at Saint Luke’s Hospital.

After successfully working with the Trust last year on a chiller replacement project, we're excited to take on this next challenge and are looking forward to getting started.đź’Ş

We're on the lookout for two Passive Fire Supervisors to join our growing team 🙌

If you have a proven track record in supervising contracts involving, but not limited to, firestopping, fire curtains/barriers installation, and maintenance of fire doors, and are passionate about fire safety, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
▪️ Carry out accurate firestopping surveys for pricing purposes
▪️ Perform fire door surveys (training provided on BlueSky & BMTrada legislation)
▪️ Report progress to contract supervisors and site managers
▪️ Coordinate with in-house trade supervisors for smooth sequencing of works
▪️ Communicate clear work instructions to PFP teams on site
▪️ Ensure on-site quality management and compliance
▪️ Knowledge of QA systems including Field-View (training provided)
