It’s been a few weeks since our last update in Leamington, and plenty has been happening behind the scenes.

We’ve installed several steel beams to provide the structural support needed at the rear of the property and around the chimney, built up the supporting pillar, and carefully bricked around the new steels. 🔨💪

We’ve also started notching out ready for the stonework — another important stage as this project continues to take shape. 🏠

A lot of the work at this stage eventually gets hidden away, but it’s the strength and precision underneath that makes everything else possible. 👌

🏗️ Progress in Leamington Spa 🧱

The last few weeks have seen some major structural work taking shape on our Leamington project.

Large steel beams have been installed within the existing property, supporting the chimney above and allowing us to create the spacious open-plan area below. We’ve also built the new pier and formed the openings ready for the steel Crittall-style doors, which are now on order. 👌

A lot of careful structural work goes into creating spaces that eventually look effortless — and this one is really starting to come together. 🔨🏠

More progress to come as we move on to the next stages.

🏗️ Flexibility on site is all part of delivering a successful build. 💪🔩

Today on Danford Lane, we reached another major milestone as the steels — including the main ridge beam — were craned into position at the top of this three-storey project. 🏠🏗️

We also caught up with Harry from Steel Edge Fabrications Ltd, who talks us through the importance of getting the steelwork right and, crucially, being prepared to adapt when the reality on site means the drawings need to evolve. 📐🔧

Because even with detailed plans and careful preparation, construction rarely comes without challenges. The key is having experienced trades, strong communication and a team that can respond quickly, work collaboratively and find the right solution without compromising the finished build. 🤝✅

That’s a big part of how we work at Buildwells — combining planning with practical experience and staying flexible when the project demands it. 🧱🏡

🏗️ Progress is being made on multiple fronts this week! 👷‍♂️🔨

At Silhill Hall Road, our carpentry team have been busy creating the new utility space and forming the new opening into the main kitchen area, helping to bring the internal layout together ready for the next stage of the project. 🚪✨

Meanwhile in Leamington Spa, after three weeks of major excavation and groundwork, the concrete is finally being poured. 🚜💪 A huge milestone that sets the foundations for everything that follows.

Every successful build starts with solid preparation, and it's great to see both projects moving forward at pace. 👏🏡

🏡 Progress is moving nicely on this full home renovation and extension project!

With the chimney breast removed and a full-length steel beam installed to support the structure, the space has completely opened up. The future kitchen and snug area is really starting to take shape, creating a bright, spacious, open-plan layout that's perfect for modern family living.

The feature media wall is already planned, first-fix works are next, and we'll soon be moving on to electrics, plumbing, plastering and screeding as this transformation continues.

It's always exciting when the structural work is complete and clients can finally start to see their new home coming together. 👌🔨

🚧 Buildwells project roundup 🚧 It’s been another busy week across multiple sites in the West Midlands and beyond 👷‍♂️🏡

📍 Leamington Spa
Groundworks are now underway on our latest project, with plenty more to come over the next few months. Keep an eye out for the full project introduction soon 👀

📍 Silhill Hall Road, Solihull
Big progress here with the fibreglass roof now complete and the lantern installed 🙌 We’re now moving into the internals with first fix electrics, plumbing and kitchen design all taking shape nicely.

📍 Danford Lane
Scaffolders have been in and we’re now pushing on with the two side gables before the roof structure can begin 🔨 Brickwork is progressing well and the project is really starting to come together.

A lot happening behind the scenes at the moment and we’re looking forward to sharing more updates soon 👌

Another big milestone reached at Danford Lane 🚧🏡

The loft space is now truly starting to take shape as the CaberDek flooring system goes down ahead of the roof installation 🔨

For this project, we’re using a specialist sound-insulated CaberDek board — helping create a stronger, quieter and higher-performing living space once complete. Attention to detail at this stage makes all the difference later on 👌

The transformation is moving fast now, and we can’t wait to see this upper floor fully brought to life.

We've been back on site at Danford and things are flying ☀️🏗️Gables up, brickwork moving nicely, and we’re now onto the final floor — loft joists going in as we speak 👷‍♂️Steel’s next (just waiting on the crane 🏗️), then it’s straight onto the roof… and with the sun finally out, you couldn’t ask for better conditions 🙌☀️Progress like this is what it’s all about 🔥

Four days of serious progress on this one 🙌
The boys have been busy getting the superstructure up, with the steel now in over the bifold opening and the other steels going in alongside the joists. Loads happening on site and it’s all starting to take shape nicely now 🔨🏡
Big progress in a short space of time and plenty more to come 👊
