I've been doing this for 20 years, working with aluminium doors for about the last 10 years at least and this is the first time I've ever seen this type of pivot.
Everyday is a school day.
Regardless we sourced the relevant parts and installed them today.
Who would have thought an American style door could end up on the mean streets of stokes croft.

Additional hookbolts fitted this morning to a 25 plate LWB Ford transit connect.

Back from a couple of days away and straight back to it 🙏

This property in Clifton wanted a 1 key home.

Firstly to an external storage cupboard door we installed a new euro sashlock and handles.
Then the cupboard and rear door we installed the APECS AP 3* BSI kitemarked sold secure euro cylinders and also upgraded the existing British standard nightlatch with an AP rim cylinder.

All three were keyed alike allowing just one key to be used to open all 3 doors.

Another happy customer and a great way to start Friday

More of the weird and wonderful world of Scandinavian windows

And a first for me, a Velfac window mechanism had become stiff meaning the old handle had snapped at a local community centre.

The mechanism itself is not only behind the beading it's on wedges to hold in place, not a simple screw in sight!! it took a lot of thinking and preserving but got there in the end.

Despite only being only a few years old this window mechanism had already failed in the locked position.
Somebody before us had attended and needlessly changed the window handle to top it off, when it still didn't work just left 🤯🤯
Luckily we know what we're doing and have the joy that is the souber window kit.
We deglazed for some wriggle room, used the kit to open the window without damage, reglazed and installed a new mechanism.

Job done 👍

A tale as old as time....

Another failed ERA vectis
We always advice to swap out for the euro version of this gearbox, was a pants idea from the beginning.

New gearbox, polished chrome euro handles and snap safe cylinder installed from van stock

As well as London first thing this morning we then headed to Portsmouth to remove broken integral panic hardware to a pair of aluminium doors, We replaced them with the far smoother operating PHA pullman latch hardware to both doors with external locking attachment.
Retro fitted to the doors with cover plate where required and extended rods for the larger height door.

From Portsmouth to Bournemouth for a non standard tilt and turn window handle replacement and then back to sunny Bristol

Early start but good to get alot boxed off today
