Meet Nicoleta!

Over the past three weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Nicoleta to MDG Architects for a period of work experience.

Currently in her second year studying at the University of Birmingham, Nicoleta has had the opportunity to gain an insight into life in practice and contribute across a variety of projects, from residential developments to civil services.

Throughout her time with us, Nicoleta has demonstrated a real drive and ambition to develop her skills and make the most of the experience. She has approached every task with enthusiasm and curiosity, actively seeking opportunities to learn, asking thoughtful questions and readily taking on new challenges.

In just three weeks, she has made great progress, developing her software skills and gaining valuable experience across different areas of architectural practice. Her proactive approach, willingness to learn and clear determination to develop a career in architecture have particularly impressed the team.

It’s been a pleasure having Nicoleta as part of MDG, and we wish her every success as she continues her studies. We’re sure her ambition and enthusiasm will serve her well as she takes the next steps in her architectural career.

Approaching Completion | Gaming Developer Office Fit-Out, Leamington Spa

Works are progressing well on this office fit-out located in Leamington Spa, with the project now approaching completion.
The scheme has involved a comprehensive reworking of the existing space, creating predominantly open-plan office accommodation alongside six meeting rooms, tea points, informal break-out spaces and a spacious canteen combining traditional dining with a relaxed soft-seating area.

The new layout provides a varied working environment, balancing open-plan workspace with dedicated areas for meetings, collaboration and time away from the desk. Alongside the spatial reorganisation, the project has included upgrades to the building services and a new palette of finishes and materials throughout.

With works now well advanced, it is great to see the different spaces taking shape on site and the design progressing from drawing board towards completion.

MDG have provided Architectural, as well as BSA Principal Designer (PD under Building Regulations / BSA 2022) and CDM Principal Designer (PD under CDM 2015) services, working closely with McCarthys and the wider project team throughout the delivery of the scheme.

We're delighted to welcome Tom Haward and Noah Hendy to the MDG Architects team as Part I Architectural Assistants.

Tom and Noah join us at an exciting time for the practice, with a number of recent project appointments strengthening our residential portfolio. They will play an important role in supporting the delivery of these schemes while also gaining experience across a diverse range of sectors and projects.

As part of their professional development, Tom and Noah will also be introduced to the role of Principal Designer, reflecting our commitment to embedding Building Regulations Principal Designer competencies across the practice and ensuring our team continues to develop the broad technical and regulatory skills required by the evolving construction industry.

We're pleased to have them on board and look forward to supporting them as they begin their careers with MDG Architects.

Huge congratulations to Forest Falcons Girls West who today became Stourbridge & District Young and Girls Football League under 13’s Tournament CHAMPIONS 2026 ❤️🖤🏆

They did it!

After 2 semi finals last year, another semi final defeat this year; Falcons Red went a step further and finished the tournament as winners with a 1-0 in the final

Absolutely made up for this bunch of hero’s cheered on by outstanding support from parents and teammates alike

Last night, a few members of the MDG team attended a fantastic Quiz Night in support of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, kindly organised with the support of Wall James Chappell Solicitors.

It was an enjoyable evening filled with quizzes, raffles, and plenty of friendly competition, all in aid of an incredible cause. Together, attendees helped raise an amazing £6,000 – enough to fund two life-saving rescue missions.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and supporting the event, and a special thank you to our teammates at Stuart James Clark Limited for joining us and helping make the evening such a success.

We are proud to have been part of an event that will make a real difference to the vital work carried out by the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

This past weekend, the MDG team took on the Malvern Hills sponsored walk in support of Birmingham Children’s Hospital — and we’re proud to say we raised £600 for an incredible cause! 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and cheered us on along the way. It was a fantastic day for the team and even better knowing the funds raised will help support the amazing work carried out by the hospital every day.

It was the perfect end to a busy week, as welcomed our guests to the club corporate event, for an entertaining and well-organised day of stories, business conversation and networking.

Barry Hearn and Will Greenwood were excellent guest speakers — hugely entertaining, engaging and full of great stories.

As a local event, it was also a great opportunity to catch up with industry contacts, clients and friends from across the region in a perfect setting.

Thanks to everyone at Stourbridge Rugby for a fantastic event — already looking forward to the next one.
