ce pellets are propelled through a blasting gun in a jet of accelerated air. On hitting the surface to be cleaned, they explode causing the surface to freeze and then loosen. The pellet then sublimes (passes direct from solid to vapour state) and the object is cleaned without any damage to the surface.
