Coming top of their group, taking them to the Cup Quarter Finals and getting through to the semi-final.
The semi-final ended in a draw meaning dreaded penalties.
The boys kept calm and made it through to the final, only to have to go through penalties again!

Our CEO, Alan, has today taken part in a leg of the Trinity Push Force which is a sponsored bed push which started in Burnley on Monday, today’s leg was from Chorley, through Preston, calling at St Catherine’s Hospice, and then on to today finish point which was Owd Nells. This charity event is down to one man, Sean Lynden of Blackpool Industrial Roofing, looking to raise £100,000 this week by pushing the bed over 100miles, a remarkable achievement.

Today was a tough one, especially with the heat, but congratulations to each and every one of today’s walkers.

Supporting the Next Generation of Tradespeople

Over the past few weeks, we were pleased to welcome Robbie, Darren and Ellis from Park Community Academy to Singleton & Smart Ltd for their work experience placement.

Throughout their time with us, all three students demonstrated excellent timekeeping, good manners, and a genuine eagerness to learn. They quickly adapted to working safely with tools and gained valuable hands-on experience across a range of construction activities.

Robbie assisted with wall plate straps, moving materials, site housekeeping, and built a bat box for installation within the school grounds.

Although Darren was only with us for a couple of days, he made a great impression by helping our bricklaying team load materials and even had the opportunity to lay some bricks under supervision.

Ellis helped prepare areas for skirting boards, assisted with window board installation, and also built a bat box as part of his placement which is also to be sited with the school grounds.

We hope the experience has given them a valuable insight into the construction industry and the wide range of careers it offers. We would like to thank Robbie, Darren and Ellis for their hard work and positive attitudes throughout the week, and we wish them every success in their future careers, they are a credit to Park Community Academy and more importantly themselves.
