We fitted a ginormous alley (garden access) door!
At 8ft tall it’s certainly our tallest yet.

This is now super secure and private!

Originally it was going to be a very simple arched gate but due to where it was going to be positioned inside. We changed the gate to an ever better style which makes it look like the perfect arch!

Fitted with 3, 24 inch adjustable premium black on galvanised hinges, our ultimate ring latch, two pad bolts and finally a cabin hook. (All fixings black stainless steel!)

Our customer is really happy and much prefers the new design!

Today in Preston PR1

We fitted our fully framed closeboard single gate.

Our customer chose pressure treated brown colour option and premium black on galvanised gate furniture fitted with black stainless steel screws.

The gate is fully framed as standard and features heavy duty capping.

Gate framework and posts are planed, eased edge and smooth to touch.

The gate has been boarded with feather edge boards and stainless steel coil nails used.

Which means no rust marks running down the gate.

Part two this afternoon in Great Eccleston!

Two months ago we fitted a large set of double arched driveway gates and two flat top tongue & groove panels.

Our customer loved them so much they asked us to make two more.

Then they got in touch and asked for another 6. So 8 more in total plus the tiny panel.

Everything was made in pressure treated brown redwood and treated in our ultra clear UV prior to installation.

Which is great because not only is it all extra protected and looks amazing. It means that it all is the same colour still!

If it was just fitted in pressure treated brown redwood without the extra treatment the colour would be completely different even after 2 months especially in the main summer months!!

We can make panels in many different styles and any size too.

We have 17 different style double gates and the double gate is D6 and the panels P8 🙂

We also have 6 different gate horn options aswell as a completely flat top. (No horns)

Not forgetting a total of 80 colour options;

78 painted options and pressure treated green and pressure treated brown.

The ultra clear UV is part of the same superior royal exterior treatment by Protek Products

Small job this morning for an upcoming customer who is having a lovely set of garage doors painted in antique teak!

The existing farm gate had dropped and needed slight adjustment. Although wasn’t catching the drive it was close in parts!

The one catch needed replacing and the other needed changing as it was packed out with multiple washers but still the gate was hitting the wall.

So we angled and routered some pressure treated timer which will stop the gate hitting the wall and is now nice and secure.

We don’t generally do repairs on gates but as our customer couldn’t get the original fitters to come back out we said we would do it for them.

Aftercare is just as important to us…..

This morning in Blackpool 🌦️

We fitted our flat top tongue & groove entrance gate. With half angled timber wall plates and rounded gate horns.

Fitted with our ultimate grey gate furniture and painted in house in anthracite grey.

We have 17 different style entrance gates and this is option E8 🙂

We have 6 different gate horn options aswell as a completely flat top. (No horns)

We also have a total of 80 colours. 78 painted options and pressure treated green and pressure treated brown.

This afternoon in South Shore,

We fitted our completely flat top, tongue & groove gate with header across the top.

The gate posts, header, and slamming strips have all been painted in black. The gate has been painted in the lovely cashmere!

The header has been finished off nicely with our powder coated black, metal gate toppers. In option C2!

The gate has been fitted with premium black on galvanised, 24inch adjustable hinges and has been fitted with our optional keylockable suffolk latch!!

This morning in Blackpool we fitted two flat top tongue and groove gates. Both with angled horns and angled posts. All made in pressure treated brown redwood.

Our customer chose our traditional galvanised gate furniture which has been fitted with stainless steel fixings.

The first gate being an entrance gate and the second a single back gate.

This week we have carried out two closeboard gate jobs, both customs opted for pressure treated green.

It’s lovely light and bright 🙂

The first was in Blackpool, a small garden gate, fully framed with heavy duty capping and black on galvanised gate furniture.

The second one we carried out today in Lytham. This was a single gate fully framed gate and matching infill. This time with galvanised gate furniture.

It has taken me 18 months and numerous purchases of different branded oil based wood preservers to find what we would call the colour brown!

All other ones I have tried say brown or even dark brown but they are nothing like it.

The reason for my initial search, is due to all the gates we made and fitted in untreated redwood which had been treated by us in oil based preserver in a medium brown colour.

Which means they ideally need to be treated each year.

Unfortunately the company stopped making it suddenly. So I’ve been looking ever since.

The final test was In my own garden on my pressure treated brown sleeper walls and faded pressure treated green trellis and finally our redwood gates which we made and fitted using untreated redwood.
