This week we’ve been in Blairgowrie on a old backfilled quarry.

Drilling a variety of open holes to prove rock head where the quarry had been mined 50 years prior and also a couple of cored holes cased off using symmetrex then using a 3m H barrel with air/mist to get samples of the bedrock.

With 100% recovery we’ve managed to successfully extract enough bedrock for the client.

This week we’ve been on a site in Livingston conducting some rotary holes casing off the bedrock using the symmtrex system then open hole using a PCD Rockbit to 50m searching for shale workings and also some shallower 5m holes on the Dando terrier.

We’re looking forward to return for our next project in Blairgowrie on Monday.

And it’s finally here! Strata Sampling’s final job in 2024, some 10m Cable percussion boreholes at Heysham Docks with TRL DCP testing in the pit and standard sampling at 1 meter intervals until rock head.

This year has been full of great people, good memories and many many meters!!
Our first year up and running and it’s been outstanding, travelling as far as Denmark and Poland to provide good quality services, we’ve sure put the work in. I thank the Strata Sampling team and everyone who’s supported us throughout the start of our journey.
I’m looking forward to more collaborations in 2025.

Another day completed. We successfully retrieved the remaining cores that needed to be taken with 100% recovery in very challenging ground, demobilised the geobore, grouted the borehole to the seabed then demobilised the 8inch in very good time, washing down the deck floor and completing all the paperwork for the office before the day is done to ensure all information is handed in and shows we have complied with the precise time frames given, leaving the boat crew to move the fleet back to harbour to re load with supplies ready for the next position. Very good results here today let’s hope tomorrow is on par.😎🇩🇰

All three fleets out here today, we had another productive day here on jack 1 firstly completing all our rig checks, fuelling and greasing the machine, preparing all the recirculation tanks and giving the deck a sweep to make sure the workspace is safe and well presentable ready for use. Then mobilising the geobore S Into the borehole successfully coring 17.30 meters getting 100% recovery in almost every run, demobilised the geobore back out the hole and getting the grouting system at ready for full completion in the morning, then we’ll be moving to our next position. We never fail to provide fast but quality results here at Strata Sampling another quality result 😎
