On Friday we had the devastating news that a member of our team sadly passed away aged just 31.

Cameron had worked with us everyday for just short of 11 years and will be missed.

We would like to extend our condolences to his family and friends (outside of our little B W May bubble) from all our staff, both in the office and out onsite.

From the outpouring of love on social media, it is clear Cameron was hugely respected and appreciated.

May he Rest in Peace but be forever remembered.

A chilly site visit today in Ramsgate, but at least the sun was out. The project consists of a single-story rear extension and a two-story side extension with the existing property fully refurbished for a national assisted living provider. This is a perfect example of what Martello does well, providing Planning, Technical Architecture, Contract Administrator, and Quantity Surveyor services to housing associations.

B W May & Son is the Principal Contractor for this scheme. They are a traditional contractor that specialises in refurbishments and large extensions. Handover is due in February, so we look forward to showing some final progress photos over the coming weeks for another rewarding project delivered by Martello Building Consultancy.

As a mark of respect, and to allow our hardworking staff to witness and commemorate this historical event, B. W. May & Son will close for business on 19th September. All our staff will receive an additional day's leave to allow this.
Although it's a sad day, Her life is one to be celebrated and we hope this extra day brings many families together.

Great to be back on site at this Grade I listed church near Maidstone.

To compliment the new Kitchenette, Servery and DDA compliant toilet we put in last year, we have installed oak flooring to finish off this new multi use area.

After reading about an arson attack on a brand new bench that was kindly donated by some local residents, we couldn’t not help out.
It is now as good as new again and ready to be enjoyed as intended. Thanks to Faversham Town Council for bringing it to our attention and to our joiners Mark and Rhys for their work in restoring it.

New Kitchenette, Servery and DDA compliant toilet installed within a Grade I listed church near Maidstone.

Timber panelling all made to specification within our Joinery Workshop to provide a sympathetic screening that introduces these necessary modern features to a historic building.

Project recently completed in Westgate-On-Sea to refurbish the Grade II Listed Waterside Hotel. The property now takes on a renewed lease on life as a 9 bedroom holiday let with stunning sea views.

This property won Home of the Year in 1882 and our restoration, using traditional methods and maintaining period features, aimed to keep to that standard.

Joinery throughout was designed and produced by our workshop in Sittingbourne.
