Here are the latest printed construction drawings, ready for collection for one of our current extension and refurbishment projects in North Cornwall.

This project is being progressed under a Building Notice, which is a great option for us on this particular project as we have a strong working relationship with both the client and contractor.

We’re providing ongoing site support as the works progress, allowing us to respond to conditions discovered on site, provide additional technical details where needed and work closely with both the client and contractor as the project evolves.

It’s a practical and collaborative approach that gives everyone greater flexibility during the build, while still ensuring the key construction and Building Regulations requirements are properly addressed.

Now it’s time to get these drawings off the desk and start digging!

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻

We’re delighted to have secured planning approval for this extension and internal alterations in Bodmin.

The proposals provide additional bedroom & a new wet room for improved accessibility. This will give the home greater flexibility for accommodating elderly relatives or family members who may require easier access and ground floor facilities in the future.

With planning now approved, we’ll be moving on to the next stage, preparing the Building Regulations specification and technical drawings to allow the project to progress to tender and ultimately construction.

A great project in North Cornwall just submitted for planning approval, extending an existing barn conversion with thoughtful internal alterations to create a more connected and practical family home.

The proposals include a generous new kitchen, dining and living space, improved circulation and a new oak framed storm porch all carefully designed to complement the existing character of the property.

Another project moving forward in West Cornwall 🏡

We have recently completed the Building Regulations drawings for this wrap around extension, taking the design through to the technical stage ready for submission to Building Control.

The plans will now be reviewed by Building Control as part of their plans check process, ensuring the proposals meet the requirements of the current National Building Regulations before works begin on site.

Once approved, Building Control will carry out inspections at key stages throughout the build to ensure the construction details are being followed and the works are completed to the required standards.

This process provides our clients with confidence that their new extension will be a safe, compliant and high quality addition to their home, giving them peace of mind as the project moves from drawings into construction.

Out and about across beautiful Cornwall today! 🌿🏡

Days like today are a reminder of just how lucky we are to work in such an incredible part of the country. From stunning coastal views to rolling countryside, every site visit comes with a different backdrop.

The Cornish weather certainly kept us on our toes today, with everything from heavy rain to glorious sunshine, sometimes all within the same hour. Thankfully, a bit of sunshine arrived just in time to take in these fantastic views.

Site visits are an important part of what we do at JATA Designs. They allow us to understand each site, appreciate its unique opportunities and constraints, and ensure every design makes the very best use of its surroundings.

No two projects are ever the same, and that's one of the things we enjoy most about our work.

It's always exciting to see our projects taking us a little further afield!

Although we're proudly based here in Cornwall, we've recently had the pleasure of assisting with the planning application for this contemporary detached garage in Hampshire.

Designed to complement the newly constructed home, the garage features sleek black timber cladding, clean modern parapet walls with a flat roof, two roller garage doors, a side window, and a separate pedestrian entrance.

By carefully selecting materials that reflect the main dwelling, the new building will sit comfortably within its surroundings while providing practical additional space.

𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙!

We're excited to share our latest residential project in South Cornwall.

This family home is set to benefit from a two storey rear extension, a complete internal remodel, and a brand new look for the front porch.

One of our favourite parts of the design is transforming the entrance. The existing porch has a low ceiling which makes it feel dark and enclosed. By raising the roof and adding a roof light, the space will become much brighter, more welcoming, and create a fantastic first impression every time you walk through the front door.

The new extension will create a spacious open plan kitchen, dining, and living area that's perfect for modern family life. The existing ground floor will be reconfigured to include a cosy snug, utility room, and shower room, while upstairs we'll be creating a beautiful new master bedroom with an ensuite.

Every project is about designing homes that work better for the people who live in them, and we can't wait to see this one move forward.
