A small trench, but an important stage in this project.

We recently prepared this stepped service trench ready for National Grid to carry out a service alteration on a family home we're working on alongside JATA Construction in Mid Cornwall.

As part of the extension and wider reconfiguration of the property, both the main electrical supply and boiler needed to be relocated to a new part of the home. This involved liaising closely with the client and National Grid to coordinate the alteration and make sure everything was ready when needed – particularly important with the family remaining in the property throughout the works.

Good planning and coordination meant the work could be carried out with minimal disruption to the homeowners, while keeping the wider project moving.

Giving an existing picking station a new lease of life.

DSW - Demolition, Environmental & Skip Hire had acquired this picking station, but the existing control panel had reached the end of its serviceable life and needed a complete rebuild.

Rather than replacing the whole picking station, the panel has been rebuilt around the requirements of the existing equipment.

The new panel is now nearing completion and will shortly be heading back to site for final connections and commissioning.

A good example of where upgrading the controls can help extend the working life of existing machinery and get a useful piece of equipment back into service.

Did you know you could currently get up to £9,000 towards an air source heat pump?

The photos show a recent local installation completed by our team, where the customer was able to benefit from funding through the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Eligible homeowners can currently receive £7,500 towards an air-to-water heat pump, increasing to £9,000 for certain off-gas-grid properties replacing oil or LPG heating.

There’s a little more to a heat pump installation than simply replacing the boiler- the property’s heat loss, insulation, radiators or underfloor heating, hot water demand and electrical supply all need to be considered to make sure the system is designed correctly.

For this installation, we were also able to manage the grant process as part of the works, helping the customer access the funding available.
