Composite Front Door to start the week off for Rhian Over little lever πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘Œ.

Replacing the exsiting failed Composite front door with pretty much like for like exchange.

Door style: Margarita.
Colour: Anthracite on White.
Glass: Ring Helia / frosted
Chrome hardware with clear glass top light.

The Exsisting door was only few years old an hasn't been right since it was installed according to clinet. Never sealed properly always let a drafty in, faided quickly on the paint an door blank cracked, resulting in the glass light leaking, also the door never shut properly. Several attempts by the previous company were made to try an rectify the issue before they walked away. We were brought in to try an rectify what was left, but due to the butchery the previous company had made on the hardware an also how they install there want much hope in saving the exsiting door. After a discussion with the client an working through the option the dession was made to start a fresh.

We will be back in a few days to remove the final bits of protection tape once the plastering has dried and the clinet has done the last bit touching up on the paint.

Progress update form the Tottington Utility exstenshion project.

Spent the last few days getting the project up out the ground. Tench block gone in, wall formed up to Dpc level, bulding wall up to course.

Slab has been dug out an blanked with stone & sand, good old wack down then installed the first layer Membrane, then 100mm insulation fitted, Secondary membrane cover layer and all taped and sealed on the corners, Concrete poored today an steel mesh installed all tamped down level.

Now leave that to set for few days before we head back at weekend start getting the walls up 🧱..

Projcet completed today for Duncan & Deborah - Frech doors & Vertical radiator.

This involved altered the exsisting arched opening between the living room & dining room, enabling use to fit a double door casing, this was then built out an feathered in with plaster, 2x glasses vertical pannel doors with brushed stainless steel hardware were installed, finishing with new touras architrave to match in with the exsisting joinery round the house.

We also whilst doing this project as the clinet was having the walls plastered an wanted to replace the existing rad but wished to hide all the pipe work, adjusted the exsisting living room radiator. We removed the exsiting traditional double pannel rad, for a more modern Anthracite Vertical double pannel rad sinking all the pipe work into the wall giving a seamless finish.

This Made sense do this at this stage as ment the clinet doesn't need to plaster / decorate the walls twice in the future.

Thanks again for Andrew boyce plastering services new for his handy work doing all the plastering an squeezing use in.

Few photos of the things we have found an have had to deal with whilst undertaking the works we do on a daily, from one of our more recent projects!!

None this was due to the clinet we were working for, but more the result of the previous owners handy work being an avid DIY gentleman on his home.

Some these were particularly leathel an could caused serious injury if not discovered an rectified..

We found the folowing:

- Screw through live gas main hidden in wall.
- Multiple plugs an screws driven through cables, causing the break in both the earth an neutral.
- Old exstenshion Cords being used as a means of connecting Led lighting in the kitchen left on the floor.
- Golf tee used to plug old radiator termination points / plumbing, again burned in wall. πŸ’¦
- Old wall light fittings just placed ontop kitchen units as a rudimentary up lighting, leaving the fitting connection exposed at the back.
- Old cable feeds just cut an left burried in the wall live. ⚑️

What a day!! Dont know wether wear our shorts or building a snowman!! πŸŒ€β˜ƒοΈ

Bit progress update form the Tottington project, was a tough week last week digging out for the placement of the new inspection chamber, exsisting service line was at quite a depth.

Once the new pipe work was in we moved on to excavating the rest of the footings maping out the area of the new exstenshion, ready accepted the concert for the new exstenshion walls 🧱.

Hope this weather passes quickly so we can progress on, an get on with building the walls up to dpc an get the slab poured later this coming week, an finally be out the ground...

Recently Completed project for Karen & Natalie over Bromley Cross.

Garage Conversion into new utility / Laundry room.

This element was one part of larger scope of works we under took to convert the lower ground floor of the property into more liveable & practical layout.
