❇️ An impressive restyle of this beautiful property has been undertaken in Westhoughton, Bolton. Situated in a picturesque setting at the side of a lake, it was craving to be taken to the next level; and the installation of 13 black VEKA windows, along with a trendy composite door did just that.

The contemporary door sits in a black outer-frame to match the windows, with the slab decked out in ‘mouse grey’. ‘Dummy sashes’ on the windows were opted for to keep in conjunction with the surrounding aesthetics on the other properties on the estate.

A special mention must go to our trusted allies at Northern Spray for their exemplary work yet again on the garage door, ensuring that the existing one wasn’t out of kilter with the rest of the colourings on the house.

❇️ Blackrod, Bolton is the place of installation for this barn-style window conversion. Previous to the timber windows which stood recently; they were actually barn doors but were converted to a large window back in 1993. If you look closely on the aperture photo, you will see the remains of the archway.

The window was advised to be made in separate frames with the correct jointing bars to give maximum strength.

Behind the 150mm shiplap cladding stands breathable felt and also acoustic insulation. This product is designed for direct application to masonry or stud walls and is a highly convenient and compacted solution for reducing noise levels on a property such as this on a busy main road. Acoustic glass has also been used.

❇️ Due diligence was crucial before this job in Harwood, Bolton commenced. Wind speeds for the properties coordinates were checked by the meteorologists and VEKA to ensure that the correct components were used in the event of treacherous weather.

Plenty of companies attempt to install these without the correct homework being conducted beforehand and the consequences can be catastrophic. The whole installation can be ripped out at the seams, causing severe damage.

Once the safety concerns were passed, a large arched window with ‘shiplap’ cladding, replaced the existing materials that stood. The cladding covered the internal floor levels and was also insulated with breathable felt.

Bedded on an ‘anthracite grey’ frame, it contrasts well together on a slab decked out in ‘agate grey’.
