Had a lovely week off work with Mrs C celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Back to work in the morning. I am normally very excited to go to work, but having to drive this massive hire van, doesn't make me feel excited. I want my van back from the repair shop, so i feel organised and in control. I can't find my parts as they are all over the floor. Fingers crossed, it won't be for long.

My worst nightmare.
Sat having a quick brew, in a lay by on a residential road. Heard the screeching of car brakes and bang.
Serious damage to my rear wheel axels, and the van looks bent.
The guy who hit me had a medical episode.
It looks like my pride and joy may be written off.
Will need to speak to my insurance in the morning.
Well and truly peed off.

Good news. I am back at work but only on a part time basis, for now.

Eight weeks since my new knee operation, so I have to be very careful with the jobs I undertake. There will be some jobs, I won't be able to do until I get stronger. But I am back!

I have got very good customers that have been waiting for me, so its only fair, that I get to these jobs first. I won't be as fast as I normally am, but looking forward to being back to work again. Thanks everyone for your kind messages and patience.

Getting bored now, getting better each day. Hopefully another week or so, I can return, but light jobs and part time.
Had a few hours doing things to my neglected van, not looked after it for a year.
So replaced my seat covers.
Give it a wash and wax.
Had my damaged cill repaired. Its looking new again. Not bad for a 4yr old van.
Getting stronger day by day.

UPDATE.

3 weeks today, I had my replacement knee.

So far, fingers crossed, it's all going to plan, hospital are very pleased with my progress, I'm doing my exercises 3 times a day. I can now walk without sticks, and nearly off pain medication.

I still need to strengthen up my muscles and learn to kneel and use step ladders. I can now drive.

I was planning on it taking 8 weeks to get back, but it could be 6 weeks. But with recovery, you don't know whats round the corner. I will not be returning, until I feel safe to do my job, so fingers crossed 🤞 - I can't wait to get back to it!

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support.

I'm finally booked in to have my knee operation on Wednesday, which means that my last day of work is this Tuesday (17th March)

I am going to be off for a few months but I will keep you all posted with regards my recovery.
