We had to double take the year when posting this! 10 years ago we completed this project in the Sussex countryside. Possibly a few more grey hairs since then! A beautiful grade II listed stone barn with glass link to a new perpendicular accommodation wing. This included a beautifully crafted timber staircase to the rooms above.

This month's detail returns to a project in Hampshire. The use of weathered red aluminium cladding to the new canopy and soffits, tied in the contemporary addition back to the arts and crafts tile hanging. This quirky light well we created was part-functional bringing light to an existing window, and part-conversation point. Creating these discoverable moments in designs adds to the overall longevity and enjoyment of the scheme.
