A rough cut in dry weather stresses the lawn further, leaves it patchy and yellow, and takes weeks to recover once the rain comes back. A careful cut at the right height — sharp blades, mulch dropped back to feed the soil, no scalping — keeps it alive and ready to bounce back fast.
