The Kitchen: These two pairs of kitchen window sashes are completely new, ready to breathe fresh life into the heart of the home.

The Rest of the Order: These kitchen windows are part of a 6-item order. The other four sashes are being fitted into the property's existing frames, where they will be fully draught-proofed and overhauled as part of our expert installation service.

The Bathroom: To keep things elegant yet private, the bathroom windows are using a stunning Barron Double Fleur Lam fully opaque glass.

The property itself is a typical Victorian home, and we have carefully crafted these timber sash windows to perfectly match the historic character of the many other traditional properties on the road.

Meet Nick and Lewis—one of our skilled installation duos hard at work in Oxfordshire! 🛠️🏡

We recently caught up with them on day three of a fantastic three-day installation project, just as they were putting the finishing touches on a brilliant feature window.

Form Meets Function: Transforming the Living Space This particular window was originally a set of French doors. The homeowner wanted to maximise their sitting room layout, so we replaced them with a beautiful, fixed feature window. It still floods the room with gorgeous natural light, but now, a sofa can sit comfortably against it without needing to be moved. 🎥✨

Crafting New Life into Original Frames For this project, the client chose to replace all of the moving sashes while keeping the original timber frames, which were still in excellent condition. This is where the precision of our installers really shines: 👉 Every new sash is bespoke-made in our Berkshire manufacturing workshop. 👉 Nick and Lewis then meticulously hand-fit those new sashes into the home's original, historic frames for a seamless, draught-free finish.

After relocating to Berkshire to be closer to family, the homeowner knew it was time for a change. The old front door "needed a good kick to get in"—hardly the warm welcome they were looking for.

To honour the cottage's history, they chose a bespoke timber door over composite. During a visit to our Bracknell workshop, the clients met our Managing Director and saw our team’s craftsmanship firsthand.

A lovely transformation to share from a recent project in Oxfordshire 👇

This striking stairwell mezzanine window has been fully upgraded with 9 new Accoya timber casement sashes, carefully designed to retain the character of the original feature while significantly improving performance.

Positioned across the stairwell, the window floods the space with natural light, and the textured “Arctic” glazing offers that perfect balance of brightness and privacy—ideal for this kind of setting. The traditional leaded design has been thoughtfully recreated, giving a real sense of heritage while still feeling fresh and refined.

The Craftsmanship Behind the Finish Our expert team hand-sprayed the exterior in a bold semi-gloss black in our dedicated paint shop to ensure a flawless, durable finish. To perfectly complement the interior decor, the customer chose a soft clay colour for the internal panel, creating a warm and welcoming feel for their entrance hall.

Meet Cameron – Sash Line Supervisor at The Sash Window Workshop.
We recently caught up with Cameron to learn more about his role and journey within the business.

Cameron joined us in November 2021, bringing a varied background that included retail, customer service experience and work in a bus depot. Having completed a joinery apprenticeship at 19, he was keen to return to a hands-on role where he could fully apply his skills—and quickly found his place within our team.

He began as a Sash Line Operative, quickly developing a strong understanding of the production process and building a wide range of skills across the workshop. This included time in the material preparation department, where he gained experience in cross-cutting, planing and spindle work.

Today, following a promotion to Sash Line Supervisor, Cameron plays a key role in overseeing the production process from the point CNC-machined components enter the sash line through to final preparation, ensuring every sash meets our high standards. As part of this, he is responsible for the quality inspection process, checking each sash before it progresses to our paint workshop.

He is also heavily involved in onboarding and training, supporting new team members and helping to develop skills across the department.

Cameron’s technical knowledge spans every stage of the process—from shaping custom horns and precision sanding, to coordinating glazing bar installation and final detailing.

In 2023, Cameron faced a significant personal challenge after being involved in a serious motorbike road traffic collision, through no fault of his own. Following nine months of rehabilitation, he returned to work with the same commitment and focus—a testament to his resilience.

Outside of work, he continues to put his joinery skills to good use, crafting bespoke animal enclosures, and has also developed a passion for building Lego, which he discovered during his recovery.

It was a pleasure to spend time with Cameron and see him back doing what he does best, supporting the team and maintaining the quality standards we pride ourselves on.

✨ A beautiful transformation in Hertfordshire ✨

This stunning six-bedroom home in a Hertfordshire market town has recently undergone a full window upgrade—and the results really speak for themselves.

All windows were crafted from premium Accoya® timber, finished in an elegant Pavilion Grey externally and classic white internally for a timeless look.

What was included:

Our team is currently working on a significant supply-only order for one of our regular partners—a South Coast-based developer we’ve been working with since early 2025.

Over that time, we’ve built a strong relationship supporting a range of their renovation projects across Hampshire.
