Low-Level Walk-In Shower Installation for Enhanced Accessibility in Dorset 🚿

When Mr H contacted us, he was looking to completely rework his existing bathroom to create a safer, more practical space for his wife. With the bath becoming increasingly difficult to use, the focus was on designing a more accessible, future-proof showering solution without compromising on style.

Following a home consultation with James, our design team created a bespoke layout centred around a low-level walk-in shower, transforming the space into something both functional and modern.

The Challenge
The brief required a full bathroom redesign that improved safety and accessibility while still feeling warm, stylish, and non-clinical. Key priorities included reducing trip hazards, improving ease of access, and making the best use of the available space.

The Outcome
We installed a spacious low-level walk-in shower with a sleek fixed glass screen to maintain an open feel while preventing water splash. A dual-head shower system was fitted, combining a luxurious rainfall shower with a practical handheld option for flexibility.

The finished space blends modern wall panelling, contemporary sanitaryware, and wood-effect flooring to create a bright, welcoming bathroom that feels both safe and stylish.
The result is a thoughtfully designed, future-proofed bathroom that delivers comfort, accessibility, and peace of mind for the whole family.

A safer bathroom transformation completed ✨

This project focused on creating a safer and more accessible bathroom for a 95 year old customer who was finding the existing bath difficult and unsafe to use.

We completely redesigned the space, removing the bath and separate shower enclosure to create a more open and practical layout. A low-level walk-in shower, slip resistant safety flooring, and a fold-down shower seat were installed to improve comfort, accessibility, and day-to-day safety.

The finished result is bright, spacious, modern, and much easier to use, helping provide greater confidence and independence at home.

Here is a new bathroom adaptation now completed 🚿✨

Our designer and Director Darren recently visited a customer living with acute osteoarthritis to discuss replacing an existing P-shaped bath with a safer and more practical showering solution to better support day-to-day mobility needs.

Due to the sloped ceilings and window positioning, the layout options were quite limited, so the new design was carefully planned to make the best use of the available space while keeping the room feeling open and modern.

The project included a spacious walk-in shower with a glass screen, low-level shower tray, wall panels within the shower area, grab rails, and new Altro Pisces safety flooring to help improve comfort, accessibility, and confidence at home.

The finished result will create a bright, contemporary bathroom that combines practical mobility solutions with a clean and stylish finish 🤍

Darren, owner of Absolute Mobility, demonstrates the level-access shower display in our showroom at Moss End Garden Village and the features that support easier, more independent showering.

A sleek sliding door provides a wide opening with a minimal threshold, making access more secure.

An integrated fold-down seat allows you to wash comfortably from a seated position, with easy-to-use temperature and flow controls positioned within reach.

The riser rail also functions as a supportive grab rail, offering stability exactly where it is needed.

For added comfort and confidence after showering, the integrated Valiryo body dryer helps you dry off with a gentle warm airflow at the touch of a button, reducing the need to manage towels.
