🫒 Olive oil soap... apparently it’s not just popular with people!

These tooth marks were left behind by rats after they gained access to a property by chewing through the flexible connection to a WC. From there, they moved into an adjacent property and helped themselves to a bar of olive oil soap.

🐀 It’s a good reminder that rats will chew and investigate almost anything when looking for food, water and nesting opportunities.

Our plan now is to eradicate the rats within the affected properties and assess the installation of a one-way sewer flap to help prevent rats from leaving the sewer system and entering buildings in the future.

The first follow-up visit at a restaurant site in Bracknell that contacted us after becoming aware they had an issue with German Cockroaches. These insects can multiply quickly and, if left untreated, can quickly cause an infestation that provides a risk to public health. This also puts the business at risk of closure and even prosecution if the environmental health department become involved.

After an initial survey, insect monitors were positioned in all areas to ascertain the extent of the problem and the hotspots. We are now undertaking a series of intensive insecticidal treatments to bring this problem under control.
