🚧 Enabling Works Complete 🚧

Magnus Construction Group is pleased to have successfully completed the enabling works at First Bus Doncaster depot.

These works form part of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority’s wider programme of projects and have prepared the depot for the proposed EV infrastructure installation.

Our package of works included:
• Demolition and associated site-clearance works, including asbestos removal
• Installation of a new cleaners’ cabin
• Installation of a battery-powered, walk-around mobile bus wash
• Alterations to the existing fuelling infrastructure
• Alterations to the compressed-air system
• Alterations to the depot’s existing gas and water supplies, including the installation of Category 5 break tanks
• Associated electrical works and the installation of new water heaters
• Site clearance and remedial works to the temporary car park area to facilitate bus parking
• Installation of new cycle shelters
• Hydroblasting to remove the existing line markings, followed by new line marking to suit the revised parking layout

All works were carefully planned and coordinated within a live, operational bus depot, maintaining access and minimising disruption to First Bus’s day-to-day operations.

We were pleased to deliver the project alongside Janus Architecture, J B Langley, Vextrix and Ridings.

From the initial concept development alongside the exceptional teams at First Bus, Janus Architecture, Vextrix, J B Langley, eSmart Networks, Optimo Energy, Palmer Energy Technology Ltd (PETL) and our wider project partners, through to final delivery by Team Magnus and our valued supply chain partners, this project has been a true collaborative success. 🤝

Delivered over an intensive 15-week programme, the depot has been transformed into a state-of-the-art EV charging hub that will support the next generation of sustainable public transport across the region.

Beyond delivering innovative infrastructure, Magnus Construction Group remains committed to creating positive social value, supporting our people, and helping communities transition towards cleaner, more sustainable transport solutions.

Magnus Construction Group Ltd is proud to announce the successful completion of the First Bus EV infrastructure project at the Bath depot, delivered in partnership with Siemens eMobility. ✅

From the initial concept development alongside the exceptional teams at First Bus, Janus Architecture, Vextrix, J B Langley and Envevo Ltd, through to final delivery by Team Magnus and our valued supply chain partners, this project has been a true collaborative success. 🤝

Over an intensive 28-week programme, the depot has been transformed into a state-of-the-art EV charging hub that will support the next generation of sustainable public transport across the region.

Key project highlights include:
⚡4 bespoke steel charging gantries
⚡32 overhead drop-down charging reels
⚡37 ground-mounted 240A chargers
⚡23 Siemens eMobility Flex 180 power cabinets
⚡4 Siemens SiCharge D 400kW All-in-One chargers
⚡77 charging points installed across the depot
⚡Charging capabilities of up to 400kW

The infrastructure has been designed with the future in mind, incorporating provisions for a future solar PV installation. This next phase will help generate renewable energy on-site, further reducing carbon emissions and moving the depot towards greater energy self-sufficiency. ☀️⚡
