🇮🇪 Day 13 – Rush… nearly home time! 😢

Stayed put in Rush today for our last full day in Ireland, with the weather doing its usual thing — sunshine ☀️, thunderstorm ⛈️, sunshine ☀️… make your bloody mind up! 😂

Spent the day exploring the beach, caves and some very impressive looking rocks. No idea what they are, but they’re apparently ridiculously old… bit like I’m feeling after nearly two weeks in the motorhome. 😂

Ruby loved it, we stayed mostly dry, and tomorrow it’s ferry time. 🚐⛴️

One last night in Ireland… where have those two weeks gone?! 🇮🇪❤️

DAY 12 — BANTRY TO KINSALE… VIA A VERY BRIEF WATERFORD 😂🇮🇪

Ireland finally remembered it was August! ☀️

Left Bantry and headed for Kinsale, and what a cracking place. Blue skies, colourful streets, gorgeous harbour, a wander around the marina and a cuppa in the sunshine. Definitely one of the prettiest stops of the trip.

Then onwards to Waterford…

We’d barely arrived before we spotted someone walking a ferret on a lead. In hindsight, that should probably have been our first sign to keep driving. 😂😂

Had a wander around, gave Waterford a fair chance but… nope, just wasn’t for us. So we jumped back in the motorhome and carried on.

And what a decision that turned out to be.

Eventually landed at a beachside car park at Ballinesker, blue skies overhead, sea right in front of us and shoes straight off for a walk along the beach. 🌊🚐

Bantry ➡️ Kinsale ➡️ Waterford ➡️ “Is that a ferret?” ➡️ Ballinesker. 😂

Sometimes the best part of having the motorhome is knowing when to stay…

and knowing when to get the hell out of Waterford. 😂🇮🇪🍻

DAY 11 — SNEEM TO BANTRY 🇮🇪

After last night trying to keep up with the hardcore Irish, a lie-in was definitely required. 😂

Eventually escaped Sneem and headed for Bantry through rain, mist and 50 shades of Irish grey. 🌧️

Stopped off along the way, then somehow bagged a cracking spot right on Bantry harbour — just in time to watch a boat race in weather only the Irish would consider suitable for boating. 😂

Finished with a wander around town and a lovely meal at Brick Oven.

A much quieter day… mainly because our livers had put in a formal complaint. 😂🍺🇮🇪

14/08/2026

DAY 9 — CLIFFS, CROSSINGS & CULTURE 🇮🇪

Cliffs of Moher today… absolutely stunning, even if we did take 300 photos of the same bloody cliff. 😂

Then the 20-minute ferry from Killimer to Tarbert — much better than driving round it, and just long enough to pretend we were on a cruise.

Onwards to Killarney where, after such a gruelling day of sightseeing, we were dangerously dehydrated.

Luckily, Guinness contains liquid. 🍺

Finished with a cracking meal.

Cliffs seen. Shannon crossed. Guinness tested.
Another culturally exhausting day in Ireland. 😂

DAY 8 🇮🇪 — GALWAY

Set off from the site for a nice little walk into Galway for lunch.

“NICE LITTLE WALK.” 😂

THREE HOURS ROUND TRIP. By the end, Ruby was looking at us like she was gathering evidence for the RSPCA.

Galway was absolutely bouncing — packed streets, live music, cracking lunch and enough sightseeing to convince ourselves this wasn’t just another elaborate route to a pub.

Then we spotted The Quays.

Well… after walking that far, dehydration is a killer. 🍺😂

One Guinness later and suddenly the walk back seemed like a problem for Future Us.

Galway: came for lunch, accidentally completed a sponsored walk. 🇮🇪😂

12/08/2026

DAY 7 🇮🇪

Started the day driving the Sky Road in the motorhome. Stunning views… although I saw most of them through clenched butt cheeks. 😂

Every corner brought another breathtaking view — and another road roughly the width of our wing mirrors.

Eventually made it to Salthill, where apparently the local hobby is climbing a massive diving board and launching yourself into the freezing Atlantic. We considered joining in for approximately zero seconds and got a coffee and pastry instead. 😂

Another day in Ireland with no real plan, some questionable route choices and somehow… we’re still married. 🇮🇪😂

DAY 6 🇮🇪

Touring the Connemara Loop and stumbled across this place completely by accident. Another triumph for having absolutely no plan.

Ruby went feral on the beach, we had a lovely stroll before the tide tried to repossess it, then squeezed in one responsible Guinness — practically a detox.

Tried seafood chowder for the first time too…

SOUPERB. Where has that been hiding all our lives?! 😂

Parked up at Connemara Camping for the night.

Turns out having no bloody clue where you’re going is actually a travel strategy. 🇮🇪😂

DAY 5 – IRELAND 🇮🇪

Drove the motorhome up a mountain overlooking Achill Island. The looks from the locals suggested we’d misunderstood the assignment.

Coming down: narrow roads, foot welded to the brakes and touching cloth at every bend.

Made it to gorgeous Westport — €3 for 24 HOURS parking. We pay nearly that for an hour back home… we might just stay. 😂

Finished in legendary Matt Molloy’s.

That Guinness wasn’t drinking… it was prescribed for the descent. 🇮🇪😂

DAY 4 – IRELAND 🇮🇪

After 3 days of Guinness-based tourism, we decided to get healthy.

Walked the dog on the beach. Hiked through a forest. Climbed a mountain in the rain.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Quickly returned to the motorhome and opened the wine before this fitness nonsense became a lifestyle.

Day 4 complete. Calories accidentally burned… emergency replacements now underway. 😂🍷
