Assistant QS - Braintree - Permanent - New Build projects
A market leading Carpentry Contractor in the East Anglia region are looking to recruit an Assistant/Trainee Estimator/ QS to be based in their office in High Garrett, Braintree.
We have a diverse experience and a track record of delivering demanding carpentry projects.
The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support to the Senior Management and Carpentry Contracts Managers, by assisting in a range of specific activities.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
• Pricing and preparing new carpentry tenders.
• Produce and submit applications for approval.
• Attend and participate in site meetings and performance reviews
• Consulting with Contract Surveyors on new and existing contracts
• Visit sites and price variations
• Assist in the identification of potential risks and opportunities on projects
• Provide assistance to the Contracts Managers with negotiation of project final accounts
• Advising on legal and contractual issues.
• Attend Final Account meetings
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
Ideally Degree Qualified Quantity Surveyor or working towards.
High level of maths skills
Analytical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good negotiation skills
Must be capable of working individually and working within a team
Good construction knowledge.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Good methodical approach to work.
