Noble Knott car park will be closed Saturday 12 September due to an event. The forest trails around Noble Knott are unaffected by the event.

All other car parks at Whinlatter (Revelin Moss car park will open at approximately 9.30am after parkrun) will be open.

Update 5/9/26: we are saddened to say that Little Red didn't make it. Thank you so much to all the team at Millcroft vets for all their efforts. Thanks also for all the love and support shown for Little Red. Although not the outcome we all hoped for, we consider ourselves lucky to have these amazing squirrels in the forest and thankful that we have such amazing supporters 💚

Thank you very much to one of our amazing visitors today who spotted this baby red squirrel kit on the forest floor as they set out on a walk.

They brought Little Red to the Ranger team as it was still alive. Little Red was then wrapped in a towel for warmth and our Rangers took it to Millcroft vets at Keswick.

We've just had an update that Little Red has been treated for a mite infection and given some fluids and will be well looked after this weekend. We're keeping everything crossed for a good recovery and hopefully releasing Little Red back into the forest when it's strong enough. 🤞🏻❤️
