We are delighted to have secured the Masonry package on this residential refurbishment project in Wimbledon Village.

Working alongside valued client Beau Bespoke, our New Build and Heritage Divisions will both deliver various services across this wonderful Grade II-listed building designed by renowned British architect, Sir Aston Webb, in 1889, whose notable work includes designing the principal façade at Buckingham Palace and the main building of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Focusing on the retained historic façade, our Heritage Division will undertake sensitive cleaning in isolated areas, repointing defective brickwork, sympathetic alterations with new traditional gauged arches, essential replacements of facing bricks using Wimbledon stocks by Lambs, and in-situ repairs of gauged red rubber bricks.

Our New Build Division’s scope is centred around the reconstruction of a rear extension comprising red rubbers, new traditional gauged arches, and new stonework using Hartham Park Bath stone, replicating the existing area’s design following demolition works that will allow an internal remodel to be carried out.

With samples already approved and our design of arches and stonework underway, we look forward to sharing more updates as we progress on site.

A very productive weekend at Eltham Cemetery & Crematorium to say the least!

Last weekend saw our team undertake the careful dismantle of the chapel’s bell and bell tower stonework to allow essential alterations to be carried out to the tower’s structure, which will be rebuilt once consolidation and remediation works have been completed.

These works form part of the fifth and final cemetery within a wider refurbishment and restoration programme across several cemeteries in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, where our Heritage Division has been working alongside valued client Standage & Co. Limited.

Our scope also includes repointing defective areas of brickwork in lime mortar, in-situ repairs and repointing of stonework, brick replacements, structural repairs, and rebuilding sections of masonry where required.

A huge thank you to our team for their fantastic efforts to date, and to City Lifting () for supporting us with their mobile crane service in one of the country’s busiest Crematoria.

We are honoured to have contributed to the major redevelopment and restoration of Skinners’ Hall.

Skinners’ Hall is a prestigious Grade I-listed building that has been home to one of the Great Twelve City Livery Companies, the Worshipful Company of Skinners’, for over 700 years. The original medieval buildings were destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666, yet the Roman Walbrook culvert in the basement survived, which has since been preserved as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Our Heritage Division had the pleasure of supporting our valued client Rooff in carrying out sympathetic remedial repairs, repointing, alteration and rebuilding works to defective areas of masonry across multiple façades, including the rear courtyard, where we undertook the sensitive restoration of the brick façade, working closely with Rooff, the Design Team and Historic England to develop a scope of works and appropriate materials.

What made this area of the project particularly special (and equally challenging!) was the building’s history. The courtyard brickwork had suffered severe bomb damage during the Second World War and was subsequently repaired and rebuilt post-War using a limited range of materials available. Over time, the impact resulted in an increasingly fragile façade that required careful intervention.

To stabilise the brickwork, we undertook brick replacements where essential, complex structural repairs and carefully rebuilding in sections with new bespoke handmade bricks supplied by HG Matthews to match the original bricks. Our works were then completed with a traditional penny roll pointing in lime mortar throughout.

We approach all cleaning projects individually, as each façade has unique requirements based on the material and its condition.

With the expertise of our Heritage Division, we provide clients with technical advice on the most appropriate, industry-approved techniques from the outset, employing various cleaning methods such as Therma-Tech, DOFF, TORC, and nebulous water spray, as well as natural and chemical poultices to remove paint and soiling.

Following our cleaning trials at our Coptall House project, which is located just off London Wall in Moorgate, we opted for the TORC system to ensure the sensitive removal of thick carbon deposits and carefully clean the historic Grade Il-listed Victorian façade comprising Portland stone and granite.

Our involvement in the conservation of The Soane Stable Yard remains one of our proudest achievements to date.

Nestled within the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, our Heritage Division undertook various specialist services on this Grade II*-listed building, ranging from structural alterations and sympathetic masonry repairs and replacements, to new brick thresholds, new stone installations, and lath & plaster repairs.

Having been selected as a Finalist for the 2026 Civic Trust AABC Conservation Awards and RICS Awards 2025 in the ‘Heritage’ Category, along with being Shortlisted for the AJ Retrofit & Reuse Awards 2025 in the ‘Adaptive Reuse into Other’ Category and receiving a Commendation from the Georgian Group Architectural Awards in the ‘Reuse of a Georgian Building Category,’ the project demonstrates the high quality achieved by everybody involved.

Now home to an Interactive Exhibition, a Café by Heidi Bakery, a Shop and Post Office, an Activity Room, and the Veterans Outreach Centre, the public can enjoy visiting The Soane Stable Yard seven days a week.

We are delighted to have been appointed to the first phase of redeveloping Gatewick Gardens in Steyning, West Sussex.

Our Heritage Division will support Bailey & Jones in undertaking essential masonry conservation works to the Grade II-listed historic folly and obelisks situated in front of Gatewick House, which comprises structural repairs of flintwork and stonework, repointing defective masonry, consolidating the stone pediment and lintel, and stone replacements.

We will also sensitively rebuild and restore several entrances across the grounds and the neighbouring Steyning Parish Church, including carefully dismantling flintwork, stonework and brickwork to salvage materials for re-use, all associated groundworks, and sympathetically re-constructing masonry to proposed designs, along with repairs to retained entrances.

Our team looks forward to beginning on-site imminently and will provide further updates as our works progress!
