Some photographs from a recent site visit to our local extension and remodel project…including a kitchen by incorporating an angular plan shaped kitchen island, which maximizes the space and ties in with our angular ceilings, feature exposed column, complete with hidden door to a secret larder.
The extension brings in the amazing countryside views, framing them like pieces of art, adding height, light and elevating the previously dark and viewless kitchen space.

Our local extension, remodel and alteration project is coming together, with internal spaces formed, windows in place framing views and zinc roof nearing completion.

Light filled spaces will provide additional living space, with strong visual connections back to the original house and views of the garden, creating a sense of place.

Images of our shortlisted project for this year’s Architecture Awards.

The careful remodel, extension and alteration of an Arts and Crafts style home, originally commissioned by local artists Henry and Isobel Morley.

The project incorporates a zinc clad upper floor extension, creating a new upper floor room. The former artists studio which was damp and cold has been carefully converted into a warm, dry heated space, with a new wrap around wall to roof glazed screen, replacing an old leaking screen, providing lots of daylight to the large studio space and access to the garden.

An angled garden extension is introduced to push the kitchen into the garden space, with angled views taking in all of the garden, featuring a zinc roof.

The design carefully retains the existing lines of the gable of the house, creating minimal interventions to these, working with zinc, creating interesting angles.

This project has completely transformed the family home, opening up the main public spaces to the garden, connecting them to one another and creating a much brighter, spacious living space, along with much needed additional accommodation and living areas, created from upgraded, unused spaces.

The extension and alterations are linked to the garden through completion of patio areas, garden steps and landscaping works.

Work progressing at another one of our local extension and renovation projects- not much of the original property left!

The new works will allow the home to take advantage of the amazing southernly panoramic views from the elevated site and will create a more spacious and light filled home for our clients.

Involving extensive upgrading works to heating, insulation and incorporating an air source heatpump and new glazing.

Photographs of one of our local extension and internal alterations projects, completed this summer.

Including a 2 storey rear extension to replace an existing stone annex, demolished as part of works, interior alterations and a side orangery extension.

The finished project allows the main house to connect with its extensive garden grounds, which have been beautifully landscaped, and creates an outdoor terrace at first floor level to the rear.

A raised ceiling within the new kitchen space and gable window provides amazing views of the garden and floods the new space and existing house with light.
A new internal stair within the kitchen connects to a new lower floor to the rear, with a bright hallway also connecting to the garden at lower level.

The new orangery connects the side of the house to the garden, also accessed from the new kitchen.
