Another consumer unit installed in the last couple of years that I have had to replace.

• I also Installed a new earth spike (TT Earthing System) here due the original spike having an impedance of 295 ohms🫤 95 ohms over what we call stable‼️

• Please, if you have a hunch that your consumer unit is in a condition like the before pictures, have it inspected🤓

A nice recessed consumer unit upgrade from earlier this week⚡️

• As you can see, plenty of brick dust etc. (foreign objects) piled up in the old consumer unit from being recessed in the wall with no IP rating.

• Fire sealant utilised to close up the gaps at back entry of the consumer unit and T+E glands used at the top of the consumer unit to maintain that IP rating of IP4X.

Another EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) from today.

Another loose connection within a consumer unit, on the RCD side that supplies a 40a 8.5Kw shower and three 16a heaters😩
How many clockwise turns did you count?😠

One of the sockets for a heater had no continuity of CPC (Earth) unscrewed the accessory to be met with a floating CPC (Earth) ⛔️

This is another perfect example of why having a reputable, qualified and competent electrician working on your properties matters‼️⚡️

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) from today.

Just a few discoveries from this morning’s EICR.

This consumer unit and the light fitting were installed 3 years ago🤔

A literal fire🔥 waiting to happen.

Incoming mains tails were made safe on today’s visit with a follow up booked in to rectify all found C2’s and this consumer unit, upgrading it with type A RCBO’s and SPD.

This is a perfect example of why having a reputable, qualified and competent electrician working on your property matters‼️⚡️

Nice board upgrade done today, had to extend a few CPC’s to suit the new consumer unit, but still finished up fairly neat and tidy.

Back at this lovely property on Filey sea front again today completing some of the remedial work needed following the recent EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)

15 of the spotlights were not fire 🔥 rated and had basic insulation visible outside the enclosures.

A few before and after pictures below⬇️

If you have spotlights similar to the ones in the before photos, you could be at risk‼️

Non-fire-rated recessed spotlights installed in a ceiling with habitable rooms above compromise the fire resistance of the ceiling/floor assembly and generally fail to comply with UK Building Regulations Part B (Fire Safety).
