1. Ensure you have smoke alarms on each floor, check they work on a monthly basis and check their expiry date. Even mains operated systems will have an expiry usually within 10 years.
2. Do not overload power sockets. Extensions are ok for temporary solutions, but for permanent longer requirements, the best method is to extend your existing circuits and add additional sockets.
