Some of the drainage repairs we’ve been up to recently…

A few different repair jobs completed by the Premjet team across the South West:

📍 Dursley – 8 metres of pipework replaced, removing the existing pitch fibre pipe which had reached the end of its serviceable life and replacing it with new drainage pipework.

📍 Chippenham – A failing gully replaced after defects were allowing wastewater to leak into the basement of the property.

📍 Bristol – Two failing manhole covers replaced. Deteriorating concrete from the existing covers had fallen into the chambers below, contributing to blockages within the drainage system.

📍 Malvern – Following a CCTV drain survey, multiple displaced joints were identified within the existing drainage line. 8 structural patch repairs were installed to repair the affected sections without the need for excavation, getting the drainage system back in good order ready for the property to be sold.

Excavating a drain isn’t always the answer.

Last week alone, our team has completed multiple drain patch lining repairs across Gloucester, Malvern and Bristol, helping customers avoid the disruption,mess and cost of unnecessary excavations.

So, what exactly is a drain patch liner?

Think of it as a “plaster” for your drain. Rather than digging up your driveway, garden or flooring to replace an entire section of pipe, a specialist resin liner is installed internally over the damaged area. Once cured, it forms a strong, seamless structural repair that restores the integrity of the pipe and gets your drainage system back into service.

Busy day yesterday for the Premjet team with five drainage jobs completed across Gloucestershire.

Today’s work included blocked drains, slow draining toilets, baths not draining and CCTV drain inspections. Two of the blocked drains were found to have collapsed pipework, allowing us to identify the cause of the issue and provide customers with the best long term repair solution.

Despite the hot weather, every job was completed quickly and professionally.

🚨 Blocked Driveway Drain Cleared in Gloucestershire 🚨

We were recently called out to a new-build property in Gloucestershire where the customer’s driveway drain was holding water and failing to drain properly.

After lifting the road gully, we discovered it was heavily blocked with building rubble, stones and construction debris that had been left behind during the building process. In total, we removed almost three bags of rubble and debris from the drain.

Once the blockage had been removed, we cleaned the drainage system using our high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure the drainage system was clear, free-flowing and working exactly as it should.

🚨 Emergency Blocked Drain Cleared & Repaired in Lydbrook

Premjet was called out to an emergency blocked drain in Lydbrook on Friday evening after the customer’s only toilet became unusable.

As this was the property’s only toilet, our engineer attended the same evening and quickly restored the drainage system using our professional high-pressure drain jetting equipment.

Because this was the second blocked drain at the property in just six months, we carried out a CCTV drain survey to identify the underlying cause rather than simply clearing the blockage.

Our CCTV inspection revealed defects within the pipework that were causing repeated blockages. We recommended a no-dig drain repair using patch lining, allowing us to repair the damaged drain without excavating the customer’s pathway.

We later returned to complete the repair, installing patch liners to reinforce the defective sections of pipe. The drainage system is now flowing freely again, helping to prevent future blockages and extending the life of the existing drain.

The customer was delighted with the result, and our quotation for the drain repair came in at less than half the price of another company.

🏡 CCTV Drain Survey Completed in Churchdown, Gloucester.

We recently carried out a CCTV drain survey at a cottage in Churchdown after the prospective buyer’s property survey highlighted a suspected collapsed drain.

When purchasing a property, drainage issues can delay the buying process and create unnecessary uncertainty. We responded promptly to help our customer get the answers they needed as quickly as possible.

Following a full CCTV inspection of the drainage system, we identified several defects, including:

✔️ A collapsed drain
✔️ A fractured section of pipework
✔️ Inset manhole covers requiring resetting, as the existing covers were unsafe

We provided a CCTV drain survey report, including:

• A detailed written report
• Measurements and drainage drawings
• CCTV footage of the entire drainage system
• Identification of all defects and their locations

We also supplied a detailed quotation for the remedial works required, allowing the customer to make an informed decision before completing their property purchase.
