We propagated this amazing climber about three years ago, from a cutting of a very old rose that had to be removed to allow for building work. Great to be able to salvage it and thrilled with the results!
Swipe for more gorge roses we’ve seen today, it’s the season!

New planting scheme for a client in St George, Bristol 👆👆👆

I always tell clients to “prepare to be underwhelmed!” as the young plants look a bit pathetic, but in a few months this will look great and in a couple of years it’ll be spectacular… promise!

The soil here is very heavy clay and the site doesn’t get much sun, so we dug in loads of well rotted horse manure to help with drainage, and have chosen plants that will be happy in these conditions.

It is a versatile scheme that will provide:
Structure - from evergreen shrubs
Colour from January to December - through flowering shrubs and perennials
Movement and texture - from ferns and grasses
Scent from the Daphne and Sarcococca
Delicious treats for pollinating insects

I’m very happy with the results so far, and look forward to coming back in a few months to check the progress!

Today is my last day working at this beautiful garden in Oxfordshire. In my 7 years here, I have learned so much and hugely enjoyed seeing the garden develop. The 130 mile round trip has finally taken its toll so I am moving on. It has been the most peaceful and pleasing place to work, and the client is a joy to work for, I will miss it greatly.
