https://www.lightofadoula.com/workshop Born in France, I lived there for a long time until my curiosity and my desire to travel pushed me to leave my native country and settle in London with my h
usband, in 2019. I’m soon move in Bath and I will be able to accompagny family in this areas and surroundings. Light of a Doula was born in the middle of Covid with the desire to shine the light on every family during their postpartum period. This consists of helping the parents prepare their own postpartum to have confidence in themselves and in their choices. I aim to be a doula who will create a calm and sacred space for the family to devote their attention and love to both their baby.ies and their own physical and emotional well-being. This period is a great upheaval that deserves to be accompanied with love and gentleness. The attention is sometimes very quickly focused on the newborn, leaving aside the parents’ needs. However, your physical and mental health is just as important, if not more so, than that of your newborn, because it is you who are in charge of mothering this treasure that you have just brought into the world. I am committed to offering a holistic support. First, with active listening to discuss traumas, frustrations, losses, premature births stories. I aim to be this friend in whose presence parents can not only share their joys but also their fears and doubts. Second, by becoming a doula and a mom, I discovered the benefits of nourishing and warm food for the mamas. I therefore take pleasure in cooking soups, broths, stews, snacks and drinks that comfort body and spirit. Third, I wish for the mums to stay lying down as mush as possible to recover faster and enjoy quality time with your newborn.s. To this point, I can do light household tasks that would otherwise take the parents’ time. Finally, I can also offer breastfeeding support to help you to have a good start and if necessary, I can connect you with other qualified professionals (e.g. lactation consultants) or groups if you encounter further difficulties. With this approach, I want to reduce the parents’ mental load to reduce postpartum depression or anxiety. I offer support from the third trimester onward to create a plan that will meet your needs. Of course, some families are already very lucky to be well surrounded by a village and sometimes only need a little help, an extra pair of hands for a few hours or days. But for others it might be beneficial to talk about topics such as batch cooking, visits and help or communication before the birth. You will find more information on my website where I offer different packages so that each family can find the support adapted to their needs. Please reach out if you’d like to know if I can accompany your family on its new journey.
