This spoon sat unfinished for months because I took a chunk out of the intended shape and was unhappy with its asymmetry.

I recently came back to it, balancing the irregular shape with this arched teardrop handle. Now, what I thought had made it imperfect make it one of my favourites..

Life in the valley recently.. 🌳🏡🌳

• Ripping out the old kitchen
• Blocking up rat holes
• Opening up the fireplace
• Installing a new lintel
• Pouring concrete
• Housing the water meter
• Stud walling and plasterboarding
• Rebuilding the airing cupboard

With a few sea swims and cliff top walks in between to stay sane.

Proud of how much I've learned just by giving it a go and so greatful to for all of his help and advice towards creating our home 🙏

📖 Chapter 1 of our Devon move.. 🌳 🏠 🌳

The house was very overgrown and neglected and as you'll see, we inherited some unwanted pets the day we moved in 🕷🕷🕷

We also found a rats nest under the old cooker and lots of wires that have been chewed through 🐀

We've spent a lot of time scrubbing, painting, ripping out old carpet and hacking back the jungle that had started to engulf the walls and garden. This valley is a proper temperate rainforest!

A new bedroom floor means we now have one comfortable space to retreat to when overwhelmed by the jobs list.

We are also finding time to explore this beautiful part of the country and remind ourselves of what drew us here. Totally immersed in nature and surrounded by amazing british wildlife.
