No fossil fuels / no power tools / no chemicals / no noise / no fumes / sustainable / resourceful / vegetarian / ...

Hi, I'm Robin. I have over 12 years of experience working as a gardener. I specialise in eco friendly garden maintenance and soft landscaping. My aim is to look after your garden while minimising its carbon footprint. By using good old fas

hioned, tried and tested methods; mixed with a modern awareness of sustainability and ecology. I walk or cycle to my gardens, use only hand tools, don't use chemicals, exchange and propagates plants, source materials locally and responsibly, compost, ...

It sometimes takes more elbow-grease but that's fine because the food that fuels me is also vegan or vegetarian! A little bit more about my background:

I was born and raised in the Belgian countryside from Belgian/British parents. I grew up living next to a farm and spent a lot of time playing music or walking the dogs in the Ardennes forest. After finishing school, I completed a 9 month landscaping course then found a job working as a gardener on the estate of a castle in the south of Belgium (www.chateaujemeppe.eu) where I learned so much more on the job. After over 2 years, I became the head gardener and worked there for another 14 months before deciding to move to the UK. I moved to Bristol in 2011 and worked for almost 3 years as a grounds maintenance operative for a small gardening company, taking care of private gardens in and around the city. After another year working as a subcontractor for 2 other local companies, I decided to start my own business in 2015. Since then, I have been looking after over 40 gardens in and around Bristol, providing the most eco friendly garden services possible. Qualifications:

- Belgian equivalent to Science and Modern Languages A levels.
- 9 months landscaping course certificate (government training scheme). My last employers in the UK considered my level of theory-based qualification to be equivalent to a Royal Horticultural Society level 2 (if that gives you any kind of reference). With my practical knowledge exceeding that. Regarding Covid 19:

I take my work and the situation seriously. I have taken a number of measures to make sure my clients and I stay safe:

- I am fully vaccinated
- I take a lateral flow test at least once a week
- I wear a mask if I have to come indoors
- I use hand sanitiser when I enter or leave a garden, house or shop.
- I try and avoid coming indoors or touching anything that is not mine.
- I try and minimise the number of trips and visits.
- I bring my own food and drinks. Thank you very much for offering a hot drink and biscuits but I would rather play it safe.
- I follow the same rules when I am not at work.
