The kitchen sink is in🚰

New kitchen sink installed as part of my new B&Q kitchen, and as we have gone for wooden worktops, I have applied a PVA seal around the cut edges to stop water getting into the wood and rotting it. I have also used Dow waterproof mastic to create a further seal around the edge of the sink to stop water getting between the sink and worktop, and going into the unit.

Not much left to do now and it is looking really smart.

When turning off the water to the sink to remove it, I noticed that the mains stop tap was dripping and required replacing, because I was removing the kitchen, this provided the perfect opportunity to replace it.

Sometimes the most obvious fix is best🚿

My shower at home had became intermittent whenever I turned the temperature up and stopped when I turned it to hot.
I immediately thought that the shower pump was on its way out and required replacing, which is a costly and timely replacement. However, I thought I would just test that it wasn’t something a simple as the shower head being blocked, as we have a lot of limescale issues in the home, and when I removed the shower head It effectively became a rattle with all the limescale in it, and with it removed, the water was flowing freely.
A quick trip to Screwfix for a new shower head and it was flowing freely again.

P.S. I test fitted the new shower head prior to making video to ensure it was the solution, hence it’s damp coming out the packaging.

This was a hot one🥵 my cold water storage tank float valve failed, and I came home to find water running down the back of the house through the overflow pipe.

Quick trip to Screwfix for a new one and it was as good as new. Unfortunately, as this is in the loft, I effectively had a sauna session while changing the part, and let’s just say, I was glad I was working from home so I could jump straight in the shower after😅
