🌶️ Pot Size Really Does Matter! 🥭

Both of these are Aji Mango chilli plants, sown at the same time and grown in exactly the same conditions. The only real difference? One was left in its original pot, while the other was potted on into a much larger container.

Just look at the difference! 😍 The larger pot has produced a bigger, healthier plant with far more growth, and it'll reward me with many more chillies over the season.

Chilli plants love having room for their roots to spread. While they can survive in smaller pots, giving them a larger home allows them to grow stronger, take up more water and nutrients, and produce a much heavier crop.

Sometimes you've just got to put the trowel down... 🌞🍸

No gardening for me this afternoon! Instead, I'm making the most of this glorious sunshine at our neighbours' 4th July party, with a nice cold gin & tonic in hand and great company all around.

This morning's mission is complete! 🌿

Everything has been cut back, tidied up and given a much-needed refresh. The tired Sweet Williams have made way for some lovely new plants, and the whole garden already feels brighter and ready for the rest of the summer. 🌸💚

This morning's mission... the front garden! 🌿

The border is full of lovely plants, but it's definitely become a little overgrown. The Sweet Williams have given a fantastic display, but they're coming to the end of their season now, so it's time for a tidy-up, a bit of TLC and a few new additions.

There's something so satisfying about picking your very first sweet pepper of the season. 🫑

Today it was Mamba, and it definitely didn't disappoint – crisp, sweet and absolutely delicious! It'll be making an appearance in tomorrow's packed lunch... if I don't eat them all first! 😄

This is exactly why I love growing my own. Fresh, full of flavour and only a few steps from the kitchen.

Echinacea are one of those plants that earn their place in every garden. 🌸

✔️ Flowers for months
🐝 Fantastic for bees and butterflies
☀️ Happy in full sun
💧 Surprisingly drought tolerant once established
🌱 Come back bigger and better each year

I grew every these from seed last year. It's taken a little patience, but seeing them burst into flower this summer has made it completely worthwhile. 🌸

With so many more buds still waiting to open, I think they're going to put on an incredible display over the next few weeks!
