🥵🔥 Boiler change… in 29°C?! 🔥🥵

You know it’s summer when you’re fitting a new boiler while everyone else is trying to stay as far away from heating as possible! 😂

This week we replaced a 15-year-old Vaillant ecoTEC Plus for a shiny new Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 826 after the customers had just moved into their new home and wanted the peace of mind that comes with a reliable, efficient boiler. A great decision before winter rolls around! 👌

The teamwork looked something like this:

🔧 Brandon was busy swapping out the boiler.
🔧 I was replacing radiator valves, carrying out a full system flush, and upgrading the gas supply after finding the old installation had been drilled straight through the back of the meter box with no protective sleeve. Not exactly best practice! 🤦‍♂️

All completed in 29°C heat… because apparently the best time to test radiators is when they could double up as a sauna! 🥵🌡️

Another happy customer, another safe and tidy installation, and another reminder that if you’re thinking about replacing your boiler, summer is actually the perfect time—before the cold weather arrives and the breakdowns start.

🔧 Another week smashed at DRH Plumbing & Heating Ltd! 🚿🔥

We actually remembered to stop for a few photos this week… mainly because Dave put the tools down long enough! 😂

Here’s what we got through this week:

✅ 4 Boiler Services
✅ 2 Gas Fire Services
✅ 1 Boiler Repair
✅ Kitchen first fix & relocation
✅ Altered drainage
✅ Altered heating, hot & cold pipework
✅ Capped off existing gas supplies
✅ Plumbed in a temporary washing machine & dishwasher

Thursday’s mission:
🔥 Full boiler replacement
💧 System flush
🚿 Replaced every radiator valve throughout the property

Friday wasn’t exactly a quiet finish either…
✔️ Boiler service
✔️ Electric shower replacement
✔️ New bath taps fitted
✔️ Quoted for a new shower door
✔️ Checked an outside tap
✔️ Replaced a leaking inlet manifold on a Worcester boiler

…and somehow we still managed to squeeze in a cheeky café stop. (Purely for quality control on the bacon rolls, obviously! 🥓☕)

🔥 Full heating system conversion completed 🔥

This job was a conversion from an old Worcester RI boiler which was previously fitted underneath the kitchen worktop, with the cylinder and tanks located up in the loft.

Over 3½ days, me and Brandon carried out the full transformation:

✔️ Drained down and removed the old boiler, cylinder and loft tanks
✔️ Removed old timber framework
✔️ Made good the area ready for the new installation
✔️ Installed a new Vaillant boiler with a 7-year warranty
✔️ Ran all new pipework to convert the system
✔️ Installed a new gas run from the meter
✔️ Installed new condensate pipework to the drain
✔️ Fitted new radiator valves throughout
✔️ Repaired an existing shower issue that wasn’t working correctly
✔️ Carried out a thorough system flush
✔️ Fully commissioned the system and showed the customer how everything works

All of this was completed while keeping the house clean, neat and tidy throughout the job.

Big transformation from old to new and another happy customer ✅
