Really happy with how this bay window seat turned out. I maximised the storage space by working with the tricky angles, while also reflecting the style of the house through the finish. I think the bullnose top really highlights this. It’s also the first piece of furniture I’ve painted in the workshop, and it feels great to have that level of control over the final product.

Really happy with this Oak pergola with (much loved and hand crafted) stained glass windows. Been a delight working with such a beautiful wood on a project with meaning and sentimental value. Working slow and steady and appreciating the dynamic this introduces to the work and the creative process.

I’ve been using a local timber mill for all Douglas Fir in the past which is very locally felled and processed, however he said all of his oak is from within 10 miles of Bristol and this particular project came from an oak up at Frenchay. Is genuinely really nice to know where the wood has come from and to hold that connection as it gets so easily lost in this fast paced consumerist world that we live in. They have been running as a timber yard since 1880 and still going strong.

All finished up with these sitting room alcove and fireplace units. Still needs to be painted up and some plastering to be done but all joinery finished and functioning well. Constructed with 18 @ 22mm hydrofugo.
