Ugly lawn patches don’t have to ruin your garden all summer πŸŒ±πŸ‘€

May is actually one of the BEST times to repair your lawn because the soil is warming up and grass seed germinates quickly πŸ™Œ

Instead of scattering seed dry, try making a seed slurry using compost, water, and Westland PureGreen Lawn Seed 🌿

I like using PureGreen because the seed is coated to help hold moisture around the seed, support faster germination, and improve establishment, especially useful when repairing bare patches πŸ‘€

The slurry keeps the seed in close contact with the soil and stops it drying out as quickly, helping the patch fill in FAR faster than traditional seeding 🌱

Keep it watered and within a few weeks the difference can be huge πŸ™Œ

Most people are watering their plants completely wrong πŸ‘€πŸ’§πŸŒΏ

And no… I don’t just mean WHEN you water πŸ˜…

Different plants and different gardening jobs actually need different types of watering. Using the wrong hose setting can:
πŸ’§ wash away compost
🌱 damage delicate seedlings
πŸͺ΄ disturb roots
🚿 waste loads of water

A gentle mist is perfect for seedlings, while a cone spray is much better for delicate containers and borders 🌿

And if you’re still blasting everything on full jet… your plants probably hate you πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Once you start matching the watering method to the job, gardening becomes so much easier and your plants will genuinely look healthier πŸ™Œ

πŸ‘‡ Which hose setting do you ALWAYS use? πŸ‘€πŸ’§

You’ve probably heard these watering β€œrules” your whole life… but some of them just aren’t true πŸ‘€πŸ’§πŸŒΏ

One of the biggest gardening myths is that watering plants in full sun burns the leaves πŸ˜…

The reality?
Plants experience sunshine and rain together in nature all the time 🌦️

Morning and evening ARE the best times to water because you lose less moisture to evaporation, but if your plants are struggling in hot weather, watering them during the day will not harm them πŸ™Œ

A thirsty plant in the midday sun is always better watered than left to suffer 🌱

Gardening becomes much less stressful once you understand the difference between myths and actual plant care πŸ‘€

πŸ‘‡ What gardening myth were YOU told growing up? πŸ˜…

If you want a garden full of colour for MONTHS… plant these πŸŒΈπŸ‘€

One of the biggest gardening mistakes is choosing plants that only look good for a couple of weeks πŸ˜…

These are some of my favourite long-flowering plants because they keep going through summer and well into autumn 🌿

From pollinator-friendly hardy geraniums to towering Verbena bonariensis, these plants earn their space in the garden πŸ™Œ

And the best part?
Most of them are incredibly easy to grow and give you colour for months with very little effort 🌱

A garden that flowers longer means:
🌸 More colour
πŸ¦‹ More pollinators
βœ‚οΈ More cut flowers
🌿 Better value from your planting

This might be one of the strangest gardening projects I’ve ever tried… but I’m slightly obsessed with the result πŸŒΏπŸ‘€

Turns out you can turn a normal terracotta pot into something that looks like it’s been sitting in a woodland for years πŸ˜…

All it takes is:
🌱 2 parts Moss (only take moss from your own garden)
πŸ₯› 1 part Natural yoghurt
πŸ–ŒοΈ A paintbrush
πŸͺ΄ A terracotta pot

The hardest part is the waiting 😭

Keep the pot damp, leave it somewhere shady, and slowly the moss starts growing directly onto the surface until the whole thing begins to look completely natural 🌱

Depending on the moss and the conditions, it can take anywhere from 2–6 months to fully establish, but the end result is SO worth it πŸ™Œ

It’s weird, messy, surprisingly satisfying… and honestly one of the coolest garden projects I’ve seen in a while 🌿

πŸ‘‡ Would you actually try this? πŸ‘€

People plant bamboo for privacy… and sometimes end up with THIS 😳🌿

Bamboo can look amazing in a garden, but planting the wrong type directly into the ground can become a real problem over time πŸ‘€

Those roots don’t just stay where you planted them πŸ˜…

Without a proper root barrier or container, running bamboo can spread fast enough to:
🌱 Lift paving
🌱 Invade borders
🌱 Push through gaps and cracks
🌱 Become incredibly difficult to remove

Not all bamboo is bad, but knowing the difference before planting is SO important πŸ™Œ

πŸ‘‡ Would you ever plant bamboo in your garden?

You do NOT need expensive planters to create more growing space πŸŒΏπŸ‘€

This simple pallet planter is one of the easiest DIY garden projects you can make, perfect for herbs, flowers, strawberries, or small-space gardens πŸ™Œ

And the best part?
You can often find pallets for FREE πŸ˜…

Vertical planting is a great way to:
🌱 Grow more in less space
🌸 Add height and interest
πŸͺ΄ Make use of bare walls and fences

Simple, budget-friendly, and surprisingly effective πŸ‘

πŸ‘‡ What would you plant in a pallet planter?
