Olympiad Leisure Centre is a community facility with a swimming pool, gym and a multi-purpose sports hall.

ECO-TEK Magna-Flex LVT was chosen for its adhesive-free design, providing a cost-effective and genuinely sustainable flooring solution. By adopting the Magna-Flex magnetic flooring system, the local authority achieved substantial cost savings.

The existing floor was sheet vinyl, which would traditionally require removal and additional preparation using latex screed - processes that generate waste and increase installation time and cost. Instead, Magna-Flex LVT was installed directly over the existing surface, eliminating unnecessary floor preparation.

This solution significantly reduced disruption, waste, and installation costs. The client also benefits from lower whole-life costs, as future refurbishments will simply involve replacing the magnetic tiles, minimising downtime, expense, and environmental impact.

Magna-Flex allowed the installation to take place while the facility remained open, avoiding inconvenience to customers and lost revenue for the leisure centre.
