Well it’s been a long time since I have had the time to post any of my work, the last few years have been a very busy and stressful rollercoaster. But also an amazing journey. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to change a house in Broadstairs in a big way. We removed 10 tonne of wall along the ground floor on the side of the house, another 5 tonne from the back and opposite side. Installed 12 steel beams on 18 tonne of concrete then built a free standing timber frame extension, joint to the house with glass up and over. Massive 5m sliding door to the rear. Fibreglass roof finished with 2x 2x1.2m roof lanterns. We built concealed storage to the front for electrical/water/gas supply and meters, hidden by the charred wood cladding installed to the exterior. Inside we formed 4m long double steps to connect the dining room in the original house with the new kitchen area, which we tiled to match the floor in the extension. We also built a downstairs toilet and utility room and installed all fittings. Finishing the main kitchen room, we fitted the kitchen with maple ply and Formica worktops. Outside we redirected the electric main supply also water and gas, then diverted the drains by installing 5 new man holes and laid 70sqm of York stone on the drive and walkways, soak away removed front wall and raised flower.I had the pleasure of organising every step of this build and doing 90% of the work myself with my cousin Paddy Clark. It nearly broke me as it was during covid with massive rises in material costs, but it did not. I look back and think did i actually do that? I have learnt a lot since 2005 just doing a bit of stud work and fitting kitchens and never thought I would be doing this, I’m a lucky man I love my job and get a lot of job satisfaction, seeing the customers loving what is created by my mind and hands is amazing. I’m very lucky to have some amazing customers. Thank you
