🎃 A terrifying bunch, aren't they?

This Halloween, we're burying 5 frightening tree and hedge care habits that need to stay six feet under. 💀

Forget free coffee and Friday pizzas. THIS is a workplace perk. 😍

Oh, and did we say? We're hiring!

Who did you get? 🧐

While we're getting absolutely soaked back here in Worcestershire, James is over in California living his best life.
We're living vicariously through his holiday photos and trying not to be too jealous. 😂☔

Fun fact: James was nicknamed ‘Nature Boy’ at school because he was always outdoors. Clearly, some things never change!

Seeing the giant sequoias in Sequoia National Park has been on his bucket list for years, and he's finally made it!

We'll share more of his adventures when he's back!

One man's dream job is another man's endless brash pile. 😂

Thinking of planting a tree? Winter is a great time to do it!

From November to March, trees are generally dormant, making it the ideal time to plant bare-root varieties here in Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

And there are a few good reasons to get planting:

🌳 Better value: Bare-root trees are usually cheaper than pot-grown alternatives.

🌳 Great conditions: Cooler weather and moist soil help newly planted trees establish, provided the ground isn't frozen or waterlogged.

🌳 Plan for the future: That little sapling won't stay little forever! Always consider its mature height and spread.

🌳 Location matters: Choose a spot carefully, particularly near buildings, drains and on clay soils.

And remember, a newly planted tree will still need looking after, especially during dry spells in its first few years.

Not sure which tree would suit your garden? Or fancy leaving the planting to the professionals?

We did say we'd support our apprentices… 😂🌳

Ethan was our very first apprentice at CJ Tree Surgeons, and now he's quite literally carrying the next generation!

Meet Joe, our newest apprentice, who's clearly settling into the team rather nicely. 🥹

From learning the ropes to showing the new lad how it's done. We love to see it! 💚

Would your tree surgeon be prepared if something went wrong?

Tree surgery isn't without its risks. In fact, it is oftem ranked as the UK's most dangerous trade! 😬

That's why we take safety seriously.

Last week, we swapped the chainsaws for a day of hands-on training at MediArb Ltd's Safety Stand Down Day, alongside The Tree Doctors limited 🇬🇧, with support from Active Arb.

🧗 Aerial rescue practice

🪚 Chainsaw safety and rigging techniques

🚑 Emergency first aid and casualty simulations

Taking the whole team off paid jobs for a day is a big investment, but making sure everyone has the skills and confidence to work safely is worth every penny.

Because at CJ Tree Surgeons, we cut trees, not corners! 🌳

That hedge isn't going to trim itself 👀 😂

If people are having to walk around your hedge rather than past it, it might be time for a trim ✂️
