Nice little box of goodies has arrived for our latest LOXONE project in Cheshire.
On this project, we are upgrading an existing LOXONE smart home by adding:
- Shading automation for the blinds in the kitchen and dining room
- Lighting automation for downlights, flood lights and LED tape in the soffits around the house and various rooms in the house
- Fibre optic ‘star’ lighting above the swimming pool
- Speakers and an Audioserver for music in the swimming pool room

Today we made up a couple of fabric wall panels using the fabric track and cloth.
Fabric walls are the most elegant way to create a feature wall for your media room or to hide away the speakers and cables in a dedicated home cinema.
We will be taking these panels (and our cloth samples) to a client to help them choose the perfect decoration for their home cinema.
Obviously, we HAD to use DEES green for these samples…

Yesterday, we completed our training with Cinema Build Systems and this was one of the most informative courses we’ve ever been on.
We left with the knowledge and the tools to determine the ideal speaker locations, screen sizes and acoustic treatment for any home cinema system. We were taught the best practice and techniques for building the whole room down to the finest details of fabric walls, LED tape placement and even star effect ceilings.
Most importantly though, we spent the whole day laughing and smiling with friends.
We genuinely love this industry and the people in it!

We’ve been to Blackpool Victoria Hospital today to move a ‘Tovertafel’ projector ready for some building works in the area it was fitted.
Tovertafel is an interactive projector designed for adults and seniors with cognitive disabilities. It projects games onto a table that the players can physically interact with, helping them to exercise their brain.
The Tovertafel has been shown to help people with dementia or learning disabilities with motor skills, social skills and memory skills. The games have been designed with different levels of difficulty to suit the users abilities.

We will be fitting 2 more of these units on different wards in the hospital next week and re-fitting this one when the building work is completed.

This week we’ve been doing some ‘old school’ style automation.
A local Judo club asked us to instal infrared heaters in the training area and some more sockets and emergency lights.
We set the heaters through contractors on a timer and a thermostat. This way, they will only come on at specified times and only if the room is below a certain temperature.
