Q. Why did the weightlifter bring a ladder to the gym?
A. Because he heard he needed to take his lifting to the next level!.... 😒

I heard the phrase this week, that everyone wants to be a weight lifter but noone wants to put the effort in and lift the big weights. There's definitely something in that. HAB Architecture work extremely hard at what they do and strive achieve their best.
Delighted to receive the great news this week that HAB have recieved votes in this year's Scottish Home Improvement Awards and are Finalists in the Scotlands Best Architectural Practice category! A notoriously difficult category with the calibre of other practices extremely high, so Marc and I are delighted to have been recognised by those who took the time to vote for us!

Q. Why did the shop window never get lonely?
A. Because it was always looking out for someone! 🙄

Another exciting week for HABs new HQ following a visit from the very talented who has skillfully hand painted our new shop front window! Obviously Fionas 7yo daughter did most of the work and ensured the over all inspection of the work but the artist did not too badly at all! 🙏🥰
Please never be lonely if you are passing and pop in to our offices for a warm welcome and a cuppa and biccie if you're lucky!

Getting planning permission in Scotland is a bit like waiting for summer - you know it should arrive eventually but you wouldn't bet your holiday on it!

HAB operate all over Scotland and each local authority have their own processes to follow but did you know a house holder application has a statutory 8week period during which time the application should be able to be determined. We can't ever guarantee Planning Approval but thankfully in this instance, the approval for this single storey extension came in within the determination period! A yes for all involved!

I entered the Commonwealth Games for the tea break!.... turns out it wasn't an official event.

Contrary to popular belief, us architects don't just sit about all day drinking tea. We undertake many roles and are indeed a wealth of knowledge.

We are providing the Professional Consultants Certificate (PCC) for this new development. If you intend to get a mortgage to finance a property purchase, you will need to prove that the construction works are completed in compliance with the approved Building Warrant. The PCC is valid for 6years from the date of certification and provides confirmation that the works have been undertaken to a satisfactory standard.

Fabulous seeing the foundations taking place for what is going to be a fantastic development!

HABBY Friday Folks!
This week HAB Architecture celebrated turning FIVE!
Five years in business together.
Together we have survived designs; deadlines; site problems.... and Marc has survived Fionas hilarious jokes! That's possibly the greatest achievement to date!
Here's to FIVE YEARS of HAB! Thanks to all who have helped us on our way and have joined us for the ride! 🙏

It's hot. The Scottish Government have advised people to stay hydrated, wear light clothing and stop saying "this'll no last".... 🥵

Hopefully what will last are these changes to this property, which sees the existing first floor flat being reconnected to the separate ground floor flat, by means of a new internal stair. With a multi generational household, converting this property back to one large house will hopefully provide a lasting home for everyone to enjoy together. 🥰
Planning Approval and Building Warrant obtained.

Q. Why was the football team always invited to parties?
A. Because they really knew how to kick things off! ⚽️🎊

Things are kicking off on site this week for this new development. Working closely with the client and a variety of colleague's and consultants, HAB Architecture obtained both Planning Permisson and Building Warrant approval. A lengthy process with much technical involvement for all the team. Testament to the team and proof of the golden rule, similar to football, if you don't know what to do, pass the ball... preferably to someone on our team! 😉

Scotland's football team is the most consistent in world football.
No matter which tournament they qualify for, you always know exactly when they'll be home!... 🫢⚽️⚽️⚽️

World Cup Fever is definitely taking hold as we all pray for a Scotland success at this evenings match!
HAB Architecture have been celebrating some of their own successes this week, with Building Warrant approvals being obtained for a couple of our recent projects.
We'll hope to see these homes soon but in the meantime we'll be keeping all crossed for tonight's game and hoping we don't see the team home too soon!
