🏡 Another farmhouse bathroom transformation completed by the team at JRD Plumbing & Heating Ltd ✅

This project involved much more than just fitting a new bathroom. We removed and rebuilt an internal wall to create the space needed for a larger shower area, relocated the toilet, installed a new extractor fan, and completed the room with wall panels, fresh plasterwork, and decoration throughout.

It’s always rewarding to see how a few structural alterations and careful planning can completely transform a space, making it far more practical and modern while retaining the character of the property.

🔥 Another heating system upgrade completed by JRD Plumbing & Heating Ltd 🔥

We’ve recently replaced an older boiler with a new Viessmann Vitodens 100-W, complete with a market-leading 12-year warranty for total peace of mind. ✅

This installation wasn’t just a straight boiler swap. We relocated the appliance to allow the flue to be brought fully up to current regulations, ensuring the installation is safe, compliant, and future-proof.

As part of the commissioning process, the boiler has been range rated down to just 7kW to better match the property’s actual heating demand. Oversized boilers are extremely common, so correctly setting the appliance helps improve efficiency, reduce gas consumption, and minimise unnecessary cycling.

We’ve also installed Hive controls with OpenTherm communication and load compensation, allowing the boiler to intelligently adjust its output based on the home’s heating requirements rather than simply switching on and off. The result? Improved comfort, lower running costs, and greater efficiency. 🌱

The customer can now control their heating and hot water from anywhere using the Hive app, giving them complete control at their fingertips. 📱

A fantastic renovation recently finished for some returning customers, and we’re delighted with how this one has turned out.

This project included:
✅ New concealed shower with dual outlets
✅ Bespoke shower niche with integrated LED lighting
✅ New heated towel rail
✅ Modern WC installation
✅ Wall-hung vanity unit
✅ LED illuminated mirror

The combination of modern fittings, clever storage solutions and feature lighting has completely transformed the space into a stylish and practical bathroom that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Today’s patient arrived in the workshop looking like it had survived both World Wars, three hurricanes and a shipwreck… 😅

This old Grant heat pump has officially reached retirement age and then some! 🫡

We’re all for repairing and maintaining heating systems where possible, but sometimes it’s kinder to put them out of their misery. This one has more rust than metal left on it! 🤣

Safe to say it’s not getting a service this time… it’s getting a one-way ticket to the scrapyard. 🚛

If your heating system is making noises it shouldn’t, looks like it’s been recovered from the Titanic, or just isn’t performing as it should, give the team at JRD Plumbing & Heating a shout.
